How long do you cut water before eating

How long before you eat are you cutting your fluid? I try to cut it about 20 minutes before eating but I don't always have that luxury if something happens and I have to eat to squeeze it into my work schedule. I was told by the folks in my program that after you are healed and back on full foods it wasn't important to worry about more than 10 minutes as the water (that's pretty much all I drink) goes through you pretty fast. Have others been told that? I want to make sure this isn't something I need to keep better track of.

Really I don't wait all that long BEFORE eating. The Water really leaves my stomach very fast. I don't get any hungrier any faster doing this, and it certainly doesn't stop me from eating less or anything. I usually don't wait any more than say 10-15 minutes.

However AFTER eating I wait a minimum of 30 minutes.

Good luck on your journey!

I don't wait more than five minutes. Even if water sits at the bottom of my stomach, since I eat protein first the protein is pretty much going to sit on top of it but I don't think the water's in there more than a minute or two. Thanks, pylorus valve!

My instructions said 5 minutes before, 30 after.

I drink until about 5 minutes (sometimes less) before I eat but I wait the full 30 or more after. I chew gum right after eating to wet my whistle.

Yep I do that too! Either that or Breath Savers (SF)... it really helps. It also helps to curb the "I wanna keep eating" feelings too.

My doc doesn't care if I drink all the way up to eating, but I don't drink for at least 30 mins after.

I drink right up to the time I eat, but I do wait 30 minutes after before drinking anything.

I was given the 5/30 rule. Nothing to drink 5 minutes before and 30 minutes after. I forget sometimes but I'm only 4 weeks out. It is getting easier as time passes.
