  1. Because of my height, (I am 6ft tall and a woman) my doc asked me to ensure I ate 1400 calories per day.

    Sept 17th check in

Checking in - got my workout in today. I am doing couch to 4K and today i managed 1.5 mins walking and 1min jogging/running. So excited. By the way, today I ate sugar and I literally DUMPED. VERY VERY scary! LOL. Hope everyone is doing well.
  6. Hi Everyone, I was sleeved exactly 3 weeks ago and I have been an emotional wreck this week. Dont get me wrong - I am glad, so glad I have the sleeve, but it is allowing me to understand certain things in my life. In my past, before the sleves, i hid behind emotional issues with food, and self sabotaged any time i was about to see serious weight loss success. I believe this happened to me again this week but it was tougher since I chose to reduce the size of my sleeve. i was overwhelmed with the thought of food and need to eat, that I got hawaiian scones, toasted them, but some nutella on them and ate them with tea. And i would take breaks and find reasons, within like 30 mins to eat more. I ate almonds, I ate honey roasted peanuts. I ate raisin, etc. Keep in mind, I am only 3 weeks out. I ate so much, I PHYSICALLY HURT. I am still feeling the impact of the hurt today. Thankfully, I couldnt eat major portions of food becuse of sleeve, but I tried. And it hit me today - i have lost about 33lbs and I am already trying to find ways to self sabotage. What am I so scared of? what am i running away from? why am I so resistant to my own weight loss success? I will continue to explore ideas to ensure that I do not self sabotage in the future. Further, the pain tells me it is not worth it. Have you ever experienced self sabotage with your sleeve? at least attempts to? Any ideas to overcome, welcome. Thanks,

Wooow - I see lots of success out there!! Congratulations All Stars - lets keep it going!!!! I had a stall all of last week which was frustrating but more Protein and workout broke it. In fact, this morning I had lost another 1.4lbs overnight. Yipee!! I managed to convince myself, or should I say CHOOSE (lol) to go to the gym after work for only 30 mins today and I feel fantastic. I hurt a little on the inside and I hope I didnt overdo it. Yipeee - here's to US!!! Wishing everyone a fantastic tomorrow!

    Sept 17th check in

Hello!! Havent posted here but I am an August sleever too. Sleeved August 25th. I hit a stall this week but the reason for my stall I believe was not eating enough (first week back at work and i forgot to eat all day and realize around 3PM that oops - havent eaten) plus i stopped doing my daily walk. I've decided to start walking again and yesterday I ate 5 "meals" and I lost 1lb overnight. Back on track...so my loss for this week is 1lb but next week will be better! Also, today I worked out for the first time in a week - yeah! I feel like I have started my week right. 30 mins on treadmill. Wuhuuu! By the way, I am really looking for a place where I can give a daily update - like literally, post daily to keep me accountable. I really really hope you all do not mind me posting an update daily. I figure this kind of thread is a good one for that. Let me know if that is hogging too much space.

    Self Sabotage

Thank you all for your concern and insight. I saw a therapist and will continue seeing her for a while, until i can get control over the reasons why i eat - the emotional reasons, as well as the reasons i self sabotage. I feel much better. Thank you all. PS: Havent done that to myself since then.

Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?

I havent worked out all week and I did hit the dreaded stall. The stall finally broke, thanks be to God, and I lost 1lb overnight. Thanks be to God. My goal is to get back into my workout regimen and choose motivation to excercise verses couch time. Here we go!!!
  13. my band was removed and converted to sleeve in same surgery. Could you call your insurance company to understand exactly what was requested by the doc and what they approved? I was never shy to call the insurance company and inquire - after all, its our life!!
  14. good info - thanks all for sharing. 5/30 is my new rule, and I like the gum piece.

  17. ATLGIRL - I was sleeved on 8/25 and while I love my sleeve so far, I think you are absolutely right! IBy the way, i should say that my first words, immediately after being woken up from Anesthesia were "omg, what did i do to myself, what did i do, what did i do???" I am not exaggerating. I was in the most extreme pain I have had to date (dont have babies yet.) And yet, by day 3, when the pain had subsided, my tune changed. You are absolutely right ATLGIRL because I have read too many posts of people saying they regretted having their sleeve earlier on but not they could not be happier. GREAT ADVICE
  18. I took off 2 weeks and it was adequate. Energy is the only thing that I believe impacts us all past 2 weeks (i would even venture to say past 1 week there's no pain but low energy) so it depends on the pace of your work. But, we work so much, so hard, take a much time as you can to relax, heal, and get your mind around the new sleeve, before having to go back to work. Good luck!

  25. I only had to do 5 days pre-surgery and it was to reduce the glycogen stores in my liver. I did some research and reducing the glycogen stores equates to less fatty liver!
