I am at the very start of all of this... I found this group 2 days ago and I've been reading non-stop...
I made my appt with my Doctor at the Naval hospital and I was expecting to have a full interview, but I was approved for a referral within the first 5 mins based solely on my BMI.
She was very nice.
I'm just worried that I am not doing this right? I see everyone keeps talking about seeing a surgeon, and giving the doc a CPT code, etc. I didn't do anything but talk to my Family Practice doctor who says she is sending this to Tricare and then if they approve I would go to a Bariatric Surgeon off base.
Is anyone in the area and who's in the same boat as me? Is there a waiting list? are you going through the hospital? Should I call the hospital instead and not go through Tricare?
Thank you very much.
