Have you had PS? Are you gonna? I thought I would just need a TT but my surgeon said I might need a body lift. I'm going to do some research but thought I'd run by y'all first.

I had a lower body lift. I will also need two more surgeries; one will take care of my batwings and my breasts, and the other will take care of my inner thighs.

I will be having a full body lift, when I'm around goal. I am actually on a savings plan with a Dr. in my area. We'll see how long it takes me to get my cash together. LOL I might be dead first.

My surgeon said he thinks he can get my insurance to pay for most of it. Anyone else have their insurance pick up the tab?

I am told that my ins. will pay for PS but i would have to have documented treatments stating i've had infections, rashes and i'm sure many other issues.

I'm only doing what I HAVE to do and that's the Tummy Tuck. Yeah, I could prolly use the full lower lift, the inner thighs, and the boobs...heck, even the batwings...but I have decided I can live with ALL of it, as it is, once I get the next 15 pounds off. Except, that is, the tummy tuck. That nastiness HAS to go!

I stand in the mirror and lift my belly away from me and dream it away. I also look to see if I will have ANY residual lift of my inner thighs. I'd rather not go there with the scalpel and the Lipo canula. ewwww. So if my TT will lift just a tad from my inner thighs...I'm good to go.

I watch this stuff on Dicsovery channel and TLC, too. I'm 41, married, with children, hubby doesn't expect me to look 20 again, (he just wants me happy), so I'm not doing ALL that. If I were 20 years younger though? Hell yeah. LOL

Insurance paid for my TT...

Best thing I've ever done.

I have some tips on getting Insurance Coverage for TT and other PS - on the "Approval" page of my PS blog that talks about it. I think there's a link on my profile page.

Also I can recommend (for information) doing an Internet search for BodyLiftHouston - that plastic surgeon specialises in Plastic Surgery after Weight Loss. It's his 'thing' :(

Good Luck!

I'm not going to - I'm going to look like an almost 40 year old who's had 3 babies but that doesnt worry me - I dont have any apron at all and was never morbidly obese so for me, the scars would be every bit as bad as the minor flabiness I have.

Not sure about my boobs though, those I would like lifted and may well do it once I've returned to work in a few years time.

I think for me the decider is how I look dressed. My tummy looks flat dressed, its just a bit soft and doughy when you see it bare. Big deal. But my boobs drag my whole look down dressed or not so they may be worth it.

I cant say I overly care though. I might do it, I might not.

Yes! For me, too. Except my tummy is NOT good dressed, and I don't imagine it will look any better in clothes when I lose this next bit of weight. It's so...there, and...yucky! LOL I have the C-section smile above my crotch. I don't like it undressed, of course, but could tolorate it if my clothes fit better. How I look dressed is the deal-breaker for me! :(

NewSho thanks for the info!

I HAVE to do something with my legs. I have horrible varicose viens. I am sure the insurance will pay for that and hoping that the Tummy Tuck can go along with that.

Boobs..lol..wow..they got to go! I'm not in a real rush for any of this, but I'm hoping that my legs can be done this coming winter. Boobs & TT can wait another year. I'm not finished losing yet.

Don't they recommned that you get to your goal for 18 months before you do any surgery?

Sunsett -

No they don't require you to be at goal for 18 months (heck some people don't even stay 'at goal' that long.)

But most Plastic Surgeons will want you to be a stable weight, at/near goal (or as close as you're going to get - within 20# is reasonable, I've been told) for best results.

And I applaud folks brave enough to get major PS done abroad, but generally I'd feel more comfortable being close by so I can get follow-up care right there.

I do understand the international prices are better, of course, but that's a lot of work to have it done so far away. (Even my friends who work for airlines get work done in Mexico and other places, but if they have a complication, they never have to face issues like 'being able to afford' or 'being able to schedule' a quick flight abroad.)

It still seems as if it's challenging though.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
