I am only 11 days out from surgery and expected to need to take it easy and not overdo, but I didn't expect to be this darned tired!!! I feel pretty good when I'm just sitting around doing nothing but when I try to do anything or take a walk I have absolutely NO energy. I'm getting in enough Water and Protein, so it's not that. Any ideas? Maybe I'm just expecting that I would bounce back quicker than I am.

Starting at my 3rd week after surgery (days 15 to 20), I came home from work, went straight to bed and slept 2 to 3 hours each afternoon/evening. I could've gotten more Water in, but really I think it was just my body using its energy to heal. All will be well; by day 21 I was pretty much back to my old self.

i had my surgery on the 16th and i feel great energy wise. i have been taking Gummy Multivitamins. they are meant for children and they are 2 for a child so i have been taking 4 a day. 2 in morning and 2 at night. they dont upset the sleeve either because i can suck on them and disolve um in my mouth. taste good too. just like a gummy bear. i know you feel like poop, but i also found just dragging yourself out in the sun can boost you mood and make you feel better too. i have been exercising lightly and seem to get some energy from that as well. i hope you feel better!

My surgery was Wednesday. When the surgeon checked my blood levels on Friday my hemoglobin had dropped to 7,5 (Normal 12 -16). They released me when it got back up to 8.5, This is Sunday after surgery and it was all I could do to get a shower. When I finished my shower the fatigue hit me lik a ton of bricks. Had to lay back down for a few minutes. I know the more I heal and stay on programs the better it will get. .

Ill be 4 months out on Sept. 17, and just in the last week have I felt like I have most of my pre-surgery stamina back. It's been a slow, steady improvement from needing a nap after doing very little, to needing a nap after a strenuous morning, to needing an easy day after a busy day. I still don't feel strong enough to tackle big projects like an all-day cleaning marathon or long, busy vacation. At first, I thought it was because I was older, but I see a lot of people in their 50s and older who bounced back quicker than me.

My doc said it takes some people up to 6 months to get their strength back. After I heard that, I quit worrying. I am doing a good job of getting my fluids, Proteins, and Vitamins every day, so I know it's not that. And I exercise for 30-45 minutes 6 days a week.

When I get that super-tired feeling, I try to indulge myself if at all possible, because I feel it's my body sending me a message.

I am 4 months out today and most days I feel pretty good, but by Friday, I am beat! I have anemia and take lots of Iron, so I think that helps me to feel good most of the time.

I get up everyday during the week at 5am to go to work and get home at 5pm. After I cook dinner and exercise, I am pretty ready for bed, but not exhausted. Friday's, I can't hardly keep my eyes open after 8pm.

LOL

I had VSG on July 6th this year. When I went in for my 1 month checkup, I mentioned how tired I was to the dr. and he gave me a prescription for a B12 nasal spray that you use once a week. I take my B12 chewable vitamins daily and I have B12 Gummy bears at my desk for a little extra, but the nasal spray really gives me the extra energy I need to stay on top of everything. Now, that doesn't mean I am exercising like I am supposed to - but I do feel like my old self:)

It seems like there's a good amount of time before people get back to their normal selves... am I crazy to think I can recover with a 3 year old and 5 month old to take care of all day???

I also make sure and take my dissolvable B-12 each day. I think it really helps and when I had labs last they said my B-12 was "through the roof", so I guess it's working well. Of course, the older you are, the longer it takes to recover from any type of surgery, so just be patient and I'm sure you'll feel back to your old self (even better!) once you're healed more and start dropping the lbs. Best of luck!

My fatigue has been a bit less just the last couple of days. I take B-12, chewable mulit (when I remember) but always take my super b complex cuz without it I am a zombie. I was sleeved Aug 1st and it's been a long road for recovery but that is okay. Started walking the last 2 weeks and I am getting better at that too!

I was told you have to get B shots or under tongue cause your body won't use it right after surgery. swallowing wont do it, it has to go directly into blood stream. That's what my doc office said.

I'm tired but I am always tired. Twenty years ago I had a hysterectomy and was 100 percent more then now. Also being way overweight is tiring.

I am almost 5 weeks out and about week 3 I finally felt like I could do more than take a shower before being exhausted. Now I make it through most of the day with energy but by the end of the day I whipped. Seems like every few days I still need a good nap too it seems to be getting better all the time though

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
