Does everyne lose their hair???

Recommended Posts

My hair's coming out by the handfuls. Has been since 3.5 months. It's making me a bit mental! My ponytail is sooo thin. I wear my hair up most of the time so that hairs aren't falling out all over the place at work.

However, I use the Joan Rivers Good hair Day powder on my scalp, and Aveda Hair Potion to thicken up the hair I do have -- both make a HUGE difference in how my hair looks, they don't do anything to prevent hair loss/or make it regrow, they are both just awesome to make it les noticeable and they both WORK. I do take Biotin 5 mcg and a supplement called Priorin (in Europe) as well. Both help regrowth, but do not prevent loss.

In my experience (I've lost hair like this before), it will start to grow back when it damn well feels like it, but it will grow back. :D

PS -- I have gotten enough Protein, supplements, liquids, etc., since surgery. I really don't think Hair loss can be prevented, but that some people don't have it perhaps for genetic reasons.

the-best-foods-for-hair this was an article that i received via email and just wanted to share with post op ... that can eat ... best of luck everyon

the info is the best 6 foods that helps with hair

this is just a snippet from the article

Skinless chicken breast is another healthy source of Protein, and it's rich in B Vitamins — folate, B6, and B12 — that maintain healthy hair. These Vitamins play an important role in the creation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen and nutrients to all body cells, including those of the scalp and hair follicles. When the body is deprived of B vitamins, the cells can starve, causing shedding, slow growth or weak strands that are prone to breaking.

I did lose quite a bit of hair. It's starting to calm down now that I'm not dieting to the extreme anymore (thank goodness!!!). I'm still losing some hair here and there though. I'm also quite convinced that if I didn't have such thick hair I would've went nearly bald... so I put an asterisk in front of my vote.

BTW: I take tons of supplements from A to Z and then some. I also take Biotin 2500 mcg, but note - Biotin does NOT PREVENT HAIR LOSS... it only helps for regrowth. And that it really does. It even helps with finger and toe nails too.

It's all a part of this process for the majority of us. I'll tell you what though, I'd rather lose some hair than still be super obese and barely fitting into Lane Bryant clothes!!!

Thanks so much for your comments. You seem to have been around the same size as me and I just WISH and HOPE to achieve the weight loss you have. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 22 and I am getting increasingly anxious for many reasons. I cannot even really IMAGINE being under 200 lbs. much less reaching my goal of 170-180 lbs. But when I see someone like you and your great success.....I have some hope to cling to. Thanks again...I will follow your progress! God bless!

Cay

I am currently just over 3 months out and now noticing quite a bit of Hair loss. It seems to just be every where. I was blessed and have quite a bit of hair so losing some of it might not be a bad thing, but I will keep updated if the loss becomes more than significant. Great Topic!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
