I love it with a little salt and just eat with a spoon. I use one of those sno cone ice shavers from wal mart.

I don't see any reason why not (I really love lemon juice too, but haven't tried it). I mean, the stomach acid is much stronger than lemon juice acid. It might make your reflux act up. Try it and let us know how it goes :)

In other words...you first. LOL

I asked my surgeon about lemonade when I was still on liquids only and he said it is a bit strong while your tummy is trying to heal but later on, it's fine.

I have a lemon tree. So I've been drinking (splenda) lemonade since I started soft foods (week 5). I had no problem, but I must tell you I was already taking Prilosec prior to this. So far I feel just fine and it is really helping me get my Water in.

I am 4 weeks post op and I have been vomiting and have major acid reflux. I read about the lemon pre-op and post op but with this much nausea and reflux I am scared. Any body suffer with the same issues? Nothing is helping.

First 2 weeks no. After that as tolerated. If you have issues with reflux no because the acidity of the citrus can be a trigger.

Thanks for the reply. The nausea and vomiting are keeping me from eating anything. I had a hiatial hernia removed at the same time as the sleeve. I just want to feel "normal". The nausea is affecting everything. Help

@@Kerley5 - Have you spoken with your doctor about the nausea? If it's that bad they may be able to prescribe an anti-nausea med for you. Ask them in something like peppermint or ginger tea would be aceptable.

My surgeon told me no citrus for 35 days as it can be harsh on the stomach and because of acidity. I think he is being very cautious about it which is good!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
