Friends, I am shattered. I entered into OT with a hope that I will lose quiet some weight with VSG. But 10 weeks out, I'm STALLED. I lost quite some weight in initial two weeks (26 lbs), but after that - it just seems to have all ended. Just 2 lb loss in the last two months (8 wks), and that too is supposedly the Water loss/gain as it keeps fluctuating!!

Help me with ideas to move on from here!!! I'm feeling so frustrated that sometimes can't even sleep due to this stress. I have not been walking/exercising, but have started that too in a hope that it'd work some wonder, but have been useless as of now. My diet is fully regime driven, with no extra carbs or fats and I'm ensuring 70-80 gm Protein with high Protein foods and isowhey shakes. Water too does not seem an issue as almost every time, the urine is colorless.

Have I failed? Am I doing something wrong/less/more? Where's the catch? I'm sure some of the esteemed members and most veterans have been through this. I request ideas and solace to make the stall a thing of past.

Please help me!!!

I would say -- let's gently lay the concept of pounds on the ground, and turn the other way.

Are you seeing any difference in how your clothes fit? Have you been taking body measurements, by any chance?

A stall around the 2 - 3 month mark is almost a guarantee with WLS. I don't know why, but I've seen a LOT of people go through it (A LOT as in almost everyone who has shared with me).

If it helps, if the information you've given is accurate (calories, types of foods, etc.) there's really no way you're going to go for a long time without losing some body fat. It may not be detectable on the scale, and it may not be constant. Keep it up and you will see a change.

Many people go into stall after 2-3 weeks, it often can last as long as 4 weeks. Sounds like you have a daddy of all stalls! Are you drinking all your Water? I think the exercise is a must... at least walking. Did you lose a lot of weight before surgery? Sometimes this slows down the initial loss after... Are you drinking lots of salty stuff? Have you measured yourself yet? Do so today if not... sometimes we lose inches and not pounds. Do you need someone to look at what your eating/drinking? post here if you want someone to comment on it. Our bodies take their sweet time losing at times, keep up the good work and Im sure things will move. How much do you need to lose? people with less to lose lose slower... good luck!

i am in the same boat. i have been sleeved for 8 weeks now and i havnt lost a thing for 5. i lost 41 lbs which i know is a lot but i started at about 360. it is so frustrating and definately not motivating...i hope we both have a change of numbers here soon..

I am in the same boat was starting to feel very frustrated. But I have noticed that my clothes are fitting way differently than even last week. I have been working very hard for every pound to come off. I was stalled for about 2-3 weeks but am slowly.....very slowly starting to see a pound drop off here and there. Stick with it, things will pick up again. I went back to my diary and looked at what I weighed on my last Dr appt at one month out and what I weight now 2 months later, and even though it has been slower I still lost almost 14 pounds. But day by day I would have never thought it was going to add up to 14 pounds!! If you would have asked I would have told you that I only lost about 8 pounds total, so it is still a mental thing for me, I nee to not let the scale rule me. The first month or so I was losing about a half a pound a day which was incredible to me. So all in all don't worry our bodies are still adjusting.

It seemed as soon as I took up running things started to slow down for me, but I can truly see the difference in my body if not my weight on the scale. I love the post from addicted to the scale what an eye opener!!!!, that really helped me this past month.

Hang in there everybody, if you are doing everything like the Dr ordered I am certain our bodies will eventually catch up. as long as we keep posting losses every thing is good!!

I am with the other people who replied... try to take the scale out of it as much as you can. I noticed a lot of changes in my body that were not noticable on the scale early on and even now. I have curves and changes in my waist line (woohoo) Try to get in that dreaded E word as much as you can. I know it can be rough at the beginning but it makes a huge difference. My husband and I attended Water aerobics at the start and I think that helped a lot! It is a nice way to exercise that isn't high impact on your joints.

I weigh once a week, except for the "Aunt Flow" week and it helps me not to stress out. It works for me and I can still tell just by the way my clothes fit that I am losing inches if not lbs. I hope this helps.

OMG- me too! It's driving me insane. I run my little heart out and the scale laughs at me. My mantra has been, "Muscle weighs more than fat, Muscle weighs more than fat." If I didn't have these gorgeous quads starting to pop up, I think I'd seriously lose it over the scale. :)

I'm on day 13 of my first stall. And not only have I stalled, I've gained 2 lbs! :angry:

My recovery nurse, who had the surgery and is at goal, told me when (not if) that happens to go back on full liquids for 3-7 days and it almost always gets u back to losing. It has worked for me. :-)

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
