I sometimes wonder was there anuthing done. I'm like maybe the stomach is still there n they are lying to me. I don't know how different I thought I would feel...how do u feel when u eat. Mind u I started full liquid today n felt tightening n constriction...I'm guessing that's not normal

My doc told me its normal cuz there is swelling and healing going on. I'm on purees and sometimes it still hurts to eat. Drinking first thing in the morning sometimes hurts. Last week I had a golf ball feeling in my stomach when I drank. My doc told me that would go away and it has. Everyone heals differently. Some people feel no pain when they first eat or drink. Everyday gets a little better

I actually went to Dr. Salameh...why?...because he was the only one who took care credit ;) but he was a great choice! I work at the Crime Museum. If everyone wants to get together one day we could all meet at my museum and have a meet up! It might be fun!

Hi! I'm in Gaithersburg - work in DC. I'm new here but being sleeved soon. I've finished all of my pre-op appointments and had my last appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday (I'm using Dr. Brebbia with MedStar)... now I'm just waiting on the insurance to give the final ok... He said it shouldn't take long...

Call me a glutton for punishment, but I'm actually starting my pre-op diet Monday even though he only requires two weeks - I figure I may be on for an extra week or two but it's an opportunity for me to lose a little more weight since right now my appetite seems to be lower than normal (I just weaned off of two months of high dose Prednisone).

I'm glad to have found this group because I haven't found a local support group yet...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
