  3. You look great!! We have our pictures on our school website. One of my parents told me that I should have my picture changed. ( I think it was a complement.) Keep up the good work!

  5. I've been back for a week of teacher meetings. I've been asked if I'm feeling alright and told that I've really lost a lot of weight. My principal asked what I've been doing to lose - I told her high protein, low carbs. (I won't be sharing about my wls at work.)
  6. I changed deodorants 5 days post surgery and that has really helped.
  7. How much protein per bar?
  8. I wish that I really knew how difficult it would be to take in fluids post surgery. I am only a week out and I have faith it will get better, but right now I'm really struggling.

  10. My surgery is tomorrow, too. I'm packed and nervous. I wish all my sleeve buddies good luck and many prayers. Kim
  11. Marty, I just want to wish you good luck and God speed on your surgery tomorrow. You'll do just great!
  12. Hi. I'm a first grade teacher at a private school in Maryland. I've only told 1 of the teachers who is a very dear friend. I will have my surgery this Wednesday. I figure I'll tell if I'm asked and no one will ask. It's a very small school, so if 1 person knows everyone will (teachers and parents).
  13. Hi Marty, I'll be having surgery on July 18th and have been feeling very much the same as you do. I know you are a teacher and I am, too, and I wonder if I was working now and had something else to focus on that it might be easier not to continually focus on the surgery. I suspect that everyone gets nervous, and even though we know we need this surgery to aid in our long term health, what we are doing is not a small thing and it seems only natural to have some feelings of apprehension as the date gets closer. Don't stop expressing the way that you feel. I do have faith that everything will go well for you and me. We'll soon be on the other side of this journey!

  15. Pamela, I think it would be fun to just show up and see the looks on everyone's faces. I'm sure your family will be happy for you once they see the great results.
  16. I didn't gain weight for the insurance approval, but now I am trying not to lose too much more weight preop. I have lost 27 lbs. on the high protein, low carb diet that my surgeon put me on and am in danger of going below 35 BMI. I was told that if I go below that the insurance co. may refuse to pay after surgery.

  18. I'm having my sleeve on July 18 too. I have been on A 2 shake 1 small diet this week and will begin my liquid diet on July 4. I like the Syntrax Nectar shakes, Vanilla torte and Chocolate. They are great mixed with decaf instant coffe and Torani sugar free syrup and a little ice blended together.
  19. I just relized I'm on the list twice. My original date was changed from July 16 to July 18. THANKS.
