Hi Joyce,

Of COURSE you will be able to eat a hamburger someday. You just may not want to, since an entire hamburger is more than a lot of bandsters can consume at one sitting.

There is nothing you won't be able to eat, if you go slowly and chew carefully. The only thing that will change is the quantity. You'll have a NEW normal, that's all!

at home i buy the low carb tortillas and make quesadillias or fajitas or tacos. i cant eat much but i do still eat the foods i love!

pasta- i buy the low carb Pasta and eat it once a week, maybe twice! no problems!

just get creative!

So now I am wondering, some of ya'll can eat a sandwich? Or a hamburger? Maybe I am too tight, but wouldn't you think I would be losing more weight?

On a more relaxed day, I can eat a "spicy chicken" sandwich - that's very moist chicken in a chili sauce with tomatoes and mozarella grilled between two thick slabs of jalapeno bread (specialty over-sized sandwich bread). Sometimes I skip the crusts. Sometimes I can only eat half. I've had maybe four since I've been banded over a year ago.

I can eat most of a Big Mac (don't tell anyone!!! ) I've had three since I was banded over a year ago.

If I'm careful and eat slowly and chew thoroughly and drink with meals (a BIG no-no!!!) I can have bread with my meals. Toast is easier. I can't fathom eating a hot dog bun, or regular hamburgers with Buns (don't know why the Big Mac went down - I guess I was motivated... lol Or maybe it was the child-sized chocolate shake.. :sick Look, I was on vacation!! lol)

Potatoes, fries - they seize me up. Mashed potatos and hash browns seem to be less of a problem. All in all, though, I rarely have these things. Really.

Why do I feel as though I just submitted to "True Confessions"? lol

I still feel as though I'm as tight as I want to be, although the last two weeks have seemed a little less restrictive, and I've been able to drink my ice Water more freely. But just when I think the band isn't there anymore, I do something stupid and get stuck. So, it's still there!

I feel tight as well and the thought of a big mac seems good but i know it will be a waste of money and will be torture to throw away so what i did a few weeks ago when i brought the kids was i ordered one of those( what used to be tiny but now is huge for me) cheesebuger and asked them to put only lettuce, onion, pickles and big mac sauce and had myself a mini big mac!Tasted like the real thing and i wasn't frustrated when i could only eat 3/4 of it since it was only a buck!

Toast is fine as long as i eat slow and can only manage one piece.

Fries are NOT do-albe and send me into PB big time since this last fill but mashed potatoes work.

Unfortunatly my weakness is buttered popcorn and i can still eat quite a bit when i let myself!!

My restriction varies too greatly to give a definite answer on this question. Sunday night I was able to eat 5 buffalo wings and half a loaf of garlic bread (!) and yesterday I was done after a few bites of taco salad. There's NO way I could have even had a bite of bread yesterday.

I can eat a burger, but no bun. I don't even try fast food burgers anymore, they're nasty without the bun, so I stick with salads when I go fast food. Pasta for me is never a good idea. It doesn't chew down well and gets stuck every time. I can eat an open-faced sandwich if the bread is toasted and sliced thin. Most days, anyway. Then there are those days when a half a loaf of garlic bread goes right down.

I pull apart all of my food now. Especially sandwiches. Off comes the top, I eat a few bites of what's inside, eat a small bite of bread, eat some more insides, etc. So no, to someone watching me eat, I don't eat normally, and probably never will again. However, this doesn't bother me. Most people are amused by my food quirks, and I'm actually much more comfortable eating in front of people now that I pick at my food instead of inhaling it.

It's really not a bad thing, this band!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
