If your posting already, you must have come through the surgery quite well. Congrats.

Do you know what size bougie your doc used on you for your revision?

Hello Sarah,

I am scheduled for plication on July 29th and questioning if I should have it or the sleeve. Would love to hear your story and why it didn't work. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,

Hi Crystal,

My plication didnt work because there was not enough restriction since the first 2 monthes I was able to eat whatever I want after the liquid stage

At the beginning I lost weight but then I regained all the pounds

I think that the surgeon didnt adjust the proper size of my new stomach since I was his second plication surgery

I've seen other patients who were happy with the result of their plication

I think you should ask more people but if I go back in time I'd choose sleeve over plication

Wish you best of luck :D

Hi Sarah, congrats. You're so brave having a revision as it must've been a more complex surgery. Does it hurt more than the plication did? Your the first GPS revision I've heard of.

You'll have to keep us posted on how it's different once you're further out as you have a unique perspective.

I wish all the best for a super speedy recovery, I'm sorry you're going through it all again, but you're sounding very positive! cool.gif

Hi Crystal, my story's pretty much the same as Sarah's, except I was something like plication number 150 for Dr Lopez Corvala. I've not had a revision as my op was 7 months ago and I'm still paying it off.

Hello dear

My surgeon said it was a little bit different because there were some adhesions because of the old surgery but the space inside was enough for the tube to pass, otherwise he would have revise it to gastric bypass.....concerning the recovery I stayed for 2 days in the hospital but frankly this time I felt much better I didn't feel any pain after surgery except for the tube coming out of my nose ,it was painful

But it didnt hurt more than the plication

Thanks TijuanaPlication....For sure I'l keep on posting on my progress :D

I walk for about 45 min or 1 hr on treadmill everyday.

So far I've lost about 35 pounds .

My starting weight was 222 Ibs....now I'm 187 Ibs

The sleeve is the best thing happened to me.It's a life changing experience.:success1:

Hi Shoppingbeemom

The tube went down my nose and through my throat.

When they pulled it I was awake ,what really bothered me was the feeling of the tube inside my throat .They kept it inside for 24 hours for all the unwanted Fluid to get out of my stomach.

There was another tube coming out of the left side of my stomach for blood to get out.

Best of luck on your surgery

Sarah

Thanks Sarah, Do you know if it is common practice to pull it out of your nose after your awake. This is the first time I've heard of it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
