How many of us have NOT had major problems with the band?

Recommended Posts

14 months out, very happy no problems would do this again, and refer people all the time. my only regret is that I spent 35 years fighting to be less obese because I never thought I would be out of the "obese" area on weight charts.-

oh yeah, the clothes, I do regret paying big bucks for fat chick clothes that were heavy as hell carring down the stairs to the car and donated. but dang it fun shopping now. size 12 or 14 in JR. dept.!!

Thanks to all who helped me through my "self-induced" paranoia.............I have had to get 2 unfills and it just seems like any less of a fill and I overeat and what seems like a "just right" fill results in eventual acid reflux/back pain. I have learned a lot from you all and perhaps I need to just go on pure liquids when I first have symptoms.

Sunsett: Hey Partner, thanks and ...............................yep (guilty) I was visiting the complications forum a little too often (how'd ya know?)

I'm ten months out, 70 pounds gone, and nothing has been problematic for me. Have pb'd off and on but have no one to blame but myself for that...eating too fast or taking too big a bite. My band is my friend...it is doing what it is supposed to do. I couldn't be happier!

I'm 6 months out & never a problem at all. No slime, PB, gas, nothing but weight loss.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
