Hey all, just wanted to jump in and say hey. I'm scheduled for April 16'th and can't wait. I'm 6'1" and 350 lbs. like the rest of you, I'm tired of all the same things, the worst to me is not being able to ride the thrill rides at the parks, we're lucky enough to have Busch Gardens Williamsburg about 45 min. away and I havent been in a few years because it's pointless, the rides I love I can't get on anymore and the ones I can get in I don't care for. also, not being able to fit in a booth sucks. like a few of you I fly daily (but don't go anywhere) my job is maintaining some government full motion flight simulators at our local Navy base, the MH53(Echo) and the MH60(Siera) helo's specifically, for as big as they are, it is a pain for me to get in and out of the cockpit on a daily basis, I manage but it's still tough.

... my latest NSV was putting on 32 inch waist pants, something I hadn't done since my wife and I were married 35 years ago. ...

32's? With your height you're a freakin' BEANPOLE! man I thought getting down to 36's was good.

Yeah, I too haven't been on any rides for decades - at least none that count. Yeehaw (NOT!) a merry-go-round. The few I COULD fit in were REAL uncomfortable and the experience was more pain than pleasure. We may just head over to Silver Dollar City this summer and ride some rides!

The surgery is incredible. I started at 440lb and now I'm 335lb. Starting now I'll be going back to my kettlebells. They really help blast the pounds off! VSG truly is the most liberating thing I've done. I feel so accomplished.

Hello guys.

I had my VSG on June 16th. Lost 22.5 pounds so far. I have been feeling some hunger and really afraid of eating too much. Had a fourth of a turkey burger and probably ate half. Because there were some very spicy Jalapeno's on it, could not et anymore. I was not eating solids until I reported for my follow up and was advised that I needed to start eating more "chewable" food along with the liquids. On the day that I drank more than usual (cream Soup and protein) I gained two pounds. Is this common? I am a little lost and thoroughly confused.

Thanks for any contributions to my post. Glad there is a men's forum!

Rich

Just another guy checking in. I get sleeved next week. I am 5' 10" and 275. The only thing that makes me unique is that I travel all over the world all the time. It sounds glamorous, but I have been averaging a trip around the world once a month for the past 5 years, and it has damn near killed me. I am taking a couple months off this summer to get myself on a new path. I can relate to the seat belt extender issue. It is a tight squeeze for me in a bunch of coach seats.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
