OHH, thank you everybody for the Happy Bandiversary wishes! I am thrilled with how much I've lost in the past year. Sure, I would have rather lost more, but around 70 is pretty good! I won't lie and say that I'm not a little frustrated right now, and I won't say that a part of me doesn't kind of ENJOY being able to eat more. But, that just shows me that my evil, terrible, dangerous habits are still in me. The band just helps me get a little control over them.

Thank you so much everybody! I love this place!

Thank you, Dianne! I live in Asheville, but I'm going to be going to Dr. B in Concord because the doctors in Asheville have a minimum weight requirement to be banded. I have to drive 2 hours to have this operation because of some stupid, arbitrary number that they have chosen to use to week people out of their program. Just doesn't make sense, but I digress. I haven't met with the surgeon yet, but have an appointment in September. I have gathered almost all of my medical records, just have to go pick up my sleep study at lunch today and get my records from the OB that diagnosed me as being insulin resistent. I'm hoping that armed with all this information I can maybe get an earlier appointment. September 14 just seems so far away! I know there is a new surgeon coming in to Dr. B's office, but everyone talks to highly of Bauman that I don't know if I want to use someone else, plus I know Bauman has done a lot of these surgeries and has done them on people with even higher starting BMIs than me. Anyway, I just started hanging around here. Ya'll seem really great and I've learned so much be reading that maybe I'll start actually posting more!

All I've seen of the new guy is a picture, but he did look very cute! For me, the only bad thing is that Dr. Bauman told me is a big Red Sox fan, so that's not good! I can still look at him though!

OK, my band honeymoon is over, and it's time to work. I say this because I gained 1 pound this week! :( I know it's not the end of the world, but I still have way too much capacity, and have come to the realization that just because I can eat, doesn't mean I should. (Duh huh!)

I'm still thrilled with my band and the results I've had so far! :)

Again I say, I cannot wait to see everyone! I may be bringing Christy Saturday, a friend from church who is also pursuing the lap band.

Karen you never know what the 1 pound is, I bet it's gone today! Hang in there your doing great!

Our company just left a few minutes ago. 4 kids, 1 dog, a 24 ft boat, 2 motor cycles, a dirt bike...our driveway looked like the Beverly Hill Billies. We went to Lake Wylie yesterday and I went airborne for about 50 feet. LOL I have a fat lip sore leg, neck and back, but it was so much fun!! We lughed so hard.

I'm going back to bed for a few minutes.

Angie-Looks like I'm heading your way again tomorrow. A friend from the past is coming to Gastonia and wants to see me. I drove around Ballantyne the other day and saw that building we were talking about. It is not complete yet, however the location is very high end so we'll see. There is so many new things over there everytime I go that way, which is pretty often, I find more new places. Not many medical mostly offices.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
