May 2006 Band Crew ~ July Chat

Recommended Posts

I had a happy day at the doctor's today. I went to my PCP today due to a sinus infection. I haden't seen him since before being banded. Him and his nurse both commented on how much weight I had lost and was glad to see the band was working so well for me. The last time I went to see him was about 3 months prior to being banded for a physical. I was supposed to go back because he wanted to pull on pills for high blood pressure and high blood suger, but I never went ( I know, bad me!) He said today that my blood pressure was normal and that it looked like it is working itself out with the weight loss. I am so glad. I have also checked my blood sugar with my father's kit (he is diabetic) and it is fine also. Its amazing what 2 1/2 months can do!

Way to go Marcy!! You will NEVER see those 3's again....gone, gone, gone. :clap2:

ousooner ~ Amazing!! I bet your doc was very pleased. It's a wonderful thing if you can avoid meds for HBP and sugar. How is your sinus infection? This seems to be a bad summer for that stuff. It's going around at church too.

Super Duper job to each of you on the challenge!!! I didn't do so well myself, but I did start working out at the Y. This week will be better.

Good job Marcy!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Good job ousooner!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Keep up the good work.:biggrin1:

I've dropped another 3 lbs. in the last 1.5 weeks. Slow and steady!:clap2: I think this heat has helped because I'm just not hungry. Thirsty, but not hungry. I'm really starting to have people make comments to me about how much I've lost and that makes me feel good. :)

Tomorrow I'm off to Atlanta ------ driving---------ick.....:angry .... My son, his girlfriend and I are going to go get the rest of thier stuff and bring it home. My son got tired of trying to make it in the music business and is coming home to make some money and get out of debt. He's working at the same place I am and they pay really well. So first it's halfway across the US, drop the girlfriend off in Nashville so she can spend the weekend with friends, down to Atlanta to see my oldest DD, back up to Nashville to pack and pick up the girlfriend, then head home and be here by Wed. evening. Very fast and VERY exhausting!:think

I will check in while at my daughter's and see how everyone is doing.

Have a great trip. Don't worry, I just went for my first fill and it was a snap. Didn't even feel it. We worry about things and then when it's over we wonder why! Sending you good thoughts...

I have a NSV (well I guess its scale related, but...) I recalculated my BMI this morning after my weigh-in and am now down to Obese instead of extremely Obese. BMI of 39.7. That means I probably would not qualify for surgury now since my comorbidities have gone away and I am under 40 BMI! lol

Way to go everyone! Congrats on the BMI ousooner! That's awesome!

Well, I made my goal of 10 lbs lost by my birthday! Today is the big day ( I turned 35!) and I'm down 11 pounds since setting that goal at the end of June! I'm half way to my September goal too! Wahoo! I haven't really found anything that I can't eat... I have had two really small episodes with really dry chicken, but it was just a few seconds of pain and it went away. I'm going out tonight for my birthday, and can't wait! Have a great week everyone!

Hello Maysters,

I,ve been reading the postings and feeling motivated, I have been down for sometime because my weight did not move after I reached 255lbs mark... I would lose 2-3 lbs but later find myself back to 255, I tried to eat more Protein and there was that challenge that got me up and started exercising... today I am down to 248lbs still motivated thanks everyone, keep up the good work!!!:clap2:

I made an appointment for a third fill for next Tuesday. My weight loss has seemed to slow down a bit and I notice I have a lot more hunger and I am eating more at a sitting so I guess it's time! I saw 243 Saturday morning but am back up at 245 this morning. Its so frustrating to fluctuate like that! Anyone else have that problem?

I am currently shopping for a new car so that has taken some energy away from scale obsession!

Kim - Happy belated birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Drewslou - I have been vascillating since the weekend whether or not to call my doctor to schedule another fill. I actually saw him last Wednesday and didn't feel like I needed a fill. I swear, by Thursday morning, I noticed less restriction. I am still undecided. I don't want to get too tight but, I still want to utilize the band.

I do pretty well during the week, but, I am definately struggling on the weekends. Even when I make good food choices on the weekend, I still seem to be up a pound or two by Monday morning. I don't exercise on the weekends, but, I do it faithfully during the week so, I just don't know. I have also realized that I tend to take in more calories on the weekend expecialy since we are frequently in social situations where food is involved. I have definately figured out how two eat around the band in those situations and am working on a strategedy for that. Ok, so, I guess maybe I don't need a fill, I just need to follow the rules a little more on the weekend. I'm not even sure if I should post my little dialogue here.

Oh well, either way, keep us posted on how you're doing Drewslou!!!!!!!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
