:hurray: Two years ago today I got 85% of my stomach removed and I have never been happier. I love that for the most part I have maintained my weight loss for over a year. I did gain a few lbs over the Christmas holidays and it was not easy taking it off. What a lesson!

It showed me that as we get farther out, it's easy to slip up and not so

easy to take it back off.

My sleeve keeps me from over eating most of the time so if I follow the rules and eat my Protein first, I rarely have room for dessert.

I read a study that said that it's common to put on 20 lbs by 5 years post op but I plan on not having any part of that!

Happy 2nd Sleeversary! Always enjoyed your posts.

Um - really to the 20 lbs above? Is this for sleevers or all WLS patients?

Happy anniversary! Thank you for sharing, it's good to know you're still fine 2 years after surgery, gaining back everything is one of my biggest fears.

Have a great day!

Congrats on the anniversary, you were a inspiration to me from the beginning!! I totally agree no 20 lb gain for me. I think maintaing for me is being aware of staying on the program and satying away from chocolate!!! My taste didn't change I still love it...darn it! Just can't keep any in the house unless it's for grandkids and I won't eat theirs.lol

Hey Miss D, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You're doing sooo great!! I'm so proud of all you have accomplished. You know that you had a huge part in my decision to remove my band and revise to the sleeve. Hugs to you for that, I'll always have a debt of gratitude to owe to you.

I'm also one that won't let that 20 Lbs creep back up on me. Once I hit goal I will never ignore the scale, I think that is the first step in losing control.

!!!HUGSSSS!!! :D :D :D :D

Congrats! I'm with the others in saying you were an inspiration for me, too, and helped me decide on Dr. Aceves. Here's hoping the next 2 years are just as successful for you.smile.gif

Thank you everyone! That study I read was a new sleeve study.

I know the regain is much higher for Gastric Bypass patients.

Diva is right though. It is necessary for me to weigh every day and not

let 2 lbs get away from me. I was foolish at Christmas because it was always so easy to take a few lbs off with the sleeve if I "overindulged"

in the past.

This time I did everything right and the scale did not move. It was the same thing as in the past, I'd lose a lb during the week and gain it back on the weekend. I finally got a handle on it and it took working out hard and

making sure I had nothing in between meals.

Now I am much more careful and I don't take my sleeve for granted.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
