Recommended Posts

Last week I posted how happy I was to fianlly break into the 150's... Now I am waiting to hear If I have breast cancer.. I noticed a lump in my right breast last friday night, they did a mamogram, untrasound and biopsy yesterday.

Although they did not outright say it .. I am pretty sure it is cancer. Have to wait 48-72 hrs for official result

I feel so sick to my stomach I can not even begin to expain how I feel right now..

Just please keep me in your thoughts..

Thanks for listening

Oh goodness. I know that it is probably hard, but don't get yourself all worried and sick and scared unless you really have to! There are lots of things that it could be. My mom has begnin cysts removed from her breasts all of the time and is always scared that it is the "c" word, but it never is! Please, Please don't worry yourself sick.

I will pray for you. Please keep us posted.

Kelly ;)

Oh Sherri, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Like Kelly says though, try not to worry until you know you need to. I have a really good friend who is currently going through breast cancer treatment and I know how scary the thought of that can be. Try not to yet though. The waiting is hard. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know what the results are.

Sherri.... SO sorry that you are going through this right now. Everyone assumes that they have cancer when they find a lump and it turns out to not be the case for many people. I'd be scared too but try to hang on to the knowledge that this may be a false alarm. Worst case scenario...the treatment options for breast cancer have never been better and are improving every day. Please let us know how you are and what you find out. I too will be sending healing vibes your way...

Try to stay positive as much as you can. Sending all my prayers that it turns out benign.

My sister many years ago had surgery and they used disolvable stitches internally. A year or two after the surgery she found a lump in her breast and went off to have it checked out. It turns out the lump was the stitches. Her body could not dissolve them properly and had balled up the foreign material and was making its way out of her body. It ended up in her breast. The doctor went in a removed the lump.

Here is hoping for something other than "c".

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
