Hello there' date='

I am new to this site and I was just wondering about other people in Bc getting surgery. I am seeing Dr. Sampath, WestCoast Bariatric in Richmond. I so far have done blood work, Ultra sound, and had the scope done. He arranged for me to have them done here in Prince George. Next month I get to see an internist in West Van. and get all the info from the diatition group he works with in Richmond, Then I get to work with my diation her in PG.

So how goes it for others :).

How's the journey going?

Hi everyone, I had my first consult Aug 22 and it went well. The doctor put me on the program and wants to see me back in 6 months. he didn't ask me to lose any weight but did tell me if I gained any, I would be taken off the program. I got a call last week for a sleep apnea test...did that last night...the results, not so great. just wondering if anyone has gone through this or what I should expect. thank you!! sorry for not being able to break off paragraphs...editor not working properly

Hi I am in the process of going through the program at Garrett Wellness in Richmond. Just recently went to Richmond and saw the dietician for the second time and the occupational therapist for the first time. Not ready for surgery yet, but I am on the right track. I've done the first set of blood work, ultra sound, and bone density tests. Just got to work on the mental changes and eating patterns.

Hello, sounds like you are on the right path and doing well. If you are new to the site, welcome!! Lots to learn here.

If I could ask, how long was your wait for your first appointment? Thanks!!

Hi Divina, I think I waited less then two years for the orientation. My surgeon referred me because I can't get my hernia fixed till I lose about a hundred pounds so he refered me for Bariatric. Then my first one on one appt was about two months later with the dietician.

Just had my sleeve on April 10. I'm looking to connect with others in the Lower Mainland who can actually maybe meet up or start some sort of weekly or monthly support group meet up in person. :)

Hello everyone,

I'll be seeing Carla and Dr. Zetner at the end of July for orientation and then separate meetings the day after. For those of you that have had orientation and meeting with both, please tell me what I can expect. And how long after your meetings did you have surgery? Were you required to lose weight? With the new program, my surgeons office doesn't even have me in system anymore. Thank you!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
