NSV 4 me!

Recommended Posts

Well I had one set of smaller size clothing set back having gotten rid of all my previous sizes. Pre-op I was in a 52 pants and they were just about cutting me in two they were so freakin' tight. I had a few pairs of 46s and wore them till they were almost comically baggy. I finally went shopping for new britches a week ago Saturday. I tried on a 42 and they fit about right, a little loose but not too loose around the waist, I then tried on a 40 and they were kind of snug. So I ended up buying 2 pair, the 42 and the 40. I ordered a pair of jeans (I like a certain brand - Deluth Trading) in 40s thinking it would be OK to wait a week or two till they were comfortable.

Well I wear my pants for 4 days M-T (please no comments I work in an office and just don't get them dirty, EVERYTHING else gets changed daily) and jeans on Friday. By Thursday I noticed the 42s were getting kind of loose. The size 40 mail order jeans came Thursday so I washed 'em up in order to try them on Friday morning fully expecting to have them NOT fit yet. To my shock they fit fine and the legs are a little baggy at that.

In 4 months I've gone from a TIGHT 52 to a comfortable 40, that's 12 inches lost around my waist! I've been a cheapskate and refused to get a new belt. My belt goes around me and then again about 30% almost 16" stick out past the buckle!

Jeez, I love this sleeve!

Hey Rootman - give us an updated status! How far is that belt wrapping around you now? What size are you in here at the 4th of July? You are doing great! I appreciate your thoughtful responses to peoples' postings.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
