Before and After pic 7 months out

Recommended Posts

Dear sleeve family!

I am so full of joy and happiness, and wanted to share. Just 7 months ago I could barely walk up the stairs of my own home, and now 7 months later I'm hiking the Grand Canyon...DID I JUST SAY THE GRAND CANYON???? LOL. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined a year ago I would be able to do this with MY torn up knees...GOD IS GOOD!!!!

Here is a picture of me the day after surgery (I was having what in the world did I do moment as you can tell from my expression) at 204.8, and the other picture was taken just this past Tuesday during my hike at the Grand Canyon at 155.

I'm SOOOO happy :) thanks for listening!!! And as always thanks for your support and love!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!

Congrats! You look wonderful! I have the same problem with the bad knees (and feet), just curious how much pain relief has the weight loss provided? I'm hoping for tons of relief, but have been told by others not to expect too much...sigh. You're an inspiration to me and my chubby knees! =)

My orthopedic surgeon was the one that put my referral in for me and told me weight loss would help. I was skeptical, because I really didn't start feeling relief until I reached around 165 lbs.

The weight loss obviously does not fix any of the permanent damage but after 2 knee surgeries (my left knee is partly bone on bone) all I can say is that the weight loss has helped me tremendously as fair as knee pain and movement goes. I see my orthopedic surgeon at the end of April and I'm going to take him a card and gift.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
