What is the best tasting protein drink?

Recommended Posts

My docotr says to get Icopure but many people in my support group meeting hate this...I heard that Biochem is a good one...Any favorites out there? I do no want one that is gritty and prefer something smooth..where can I get samples from? Thanks so much ! This forum has already been so extremely helpful. I have to start my pre op 14 day liquids on April 13th and I don't know what to stock up on...

GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme Chocolate!

I got approval for this from my nutritionist - very high quality Protein isolates (much better apparently than Protein concentrate). 60g of protein for 280 calories, though I usually take half of it, so 30g of protein for 140 calories. The container then has 34 servings, and I usually get it on sale for $40.

If you make it in a "Magic bullet" style blender, it gets thick and creamy, if you just shake it in a bottle, it has the consistency of chocolate milk. I like both, depending on what I am in the mood for. I usually add some Benefiber, to get that taken care off...you'll see :-)

Give it a try, you can return open containers at GNC for a full refund, so you really have nothing to lose!

I really like Jay Rob's products. They are reasonably priced, have good flavor and dissolve well when I whisk them up with my Vitamin Water. I got mine at Whole Foods but I imagine you can find it elsewhere, including his web site.

I love the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury products, especially the chicken Soup and the chocolate splendor flavors. I mix the chocolate splendor with coffee and it tastes like a yummy high priced coffee drink! My nutritionist said they are made from the high quality Protein isolate.

Go to the Unjury website and you can order a sampler kit for less than $20 and it has 2 packets each of 4 or 5 flavors, a plastic shaker/mixer and a thermometer. The thermometer is needed if you are going to mix with hot liquids as they need to be at 130 degrees or less. I bought an extra thermometer to keep in my desk at work.

There is a sticky thread right in this forum that details a bunch of places to get samples from.

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/1267-places-to-get-liquid-protein-samples/

I won't even buy Isopure, I really like a bunch of the Syntrax nectar Flavors as well as unjury chocolate Splendor.

I have to put in a vote for the unjury products! I just ordered a starter kit and it had the following contents:

2 packets each vanilla, chocolate splendor, strawberry sorbet, unflavored, and chicken Soup

1 16oz Rubbermaid shaker container

1 trutemp food thermometer (because you can't mix Unjury into temps over 130 degrees F or they get clumpy and gross)

all for $17.95 plus shipping of $6.

The chocolate splendor in the shaker bottle to me tastes like a cross between Ovaltine and Nestle Quik. The vanilla, which I had this morning, tastes kind of like cake batter, or belgian waffle batter, yum!

The packs say to mix with 8oz milk, but I had to go up to 16oz because at 8oz the mix was too sweet for me. Each pack has the following nutritional info:

100 cal (mix only, add cals for milk)

0 g fat

140 mg potassium

35 mg sodium

4 g carb

20 g Protein

I think you can only get it mail order, but it's better than palatable, so it's worth it for me.

Good luck!

I do that too and I think it is great if you like your Protein because it is an easy way to get an extra 8 oz. of Water in!

Hello, I would like to ask a question in regard to your health insurance.I have the same doctor, Dr. David Buchin and I have Empire Gov ' t Plan Insurance and I have to 6 month of supervised visits. My BMI IS 38 and I am 215 lbs. I was wondering what Health Insurnace do you have that you were approved so quickly. I just wanted to know if I have Co-morbidities, which I have high blood pressure and on medication and I am pre-diabetic. Do I still have to get medically supervised. My meeting with Dr. Buchin was that I received the information from the office and now I have to make all of these appointments on my own. Thank You

I second the pretty good flavor of the Wheybolic, only I have it in vanilla. It's very, very tolerable, to the point that I think I finally found a Protein Powder that I can use daily. Yay!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
