Bundle of Nerves....tomorrow's the day.

Recommended Posts

Not gonna lie....I'm a nervous wreck tonight. I honestly didn't think I would be. This time tomorrow night I will be sleeved! Hubby and I are driving in tonight (live 2 hours away) so I'm sitting here in the car going through every emotion possible!

Yes, I was nervous the night before too. It will be fine, the time goes so quickly to prep for surgery and then when you wake up it's done. Have a nice dinner if you can and a glass of wine. Let us know how you do afterwards.

Tomorrow is my surgery too, and I am also getting really nervous. Just drank the stuff to clear my system, and as soon as that is done, I am going to pack my bag, take a nice hot shower and try to relax.

Best of luck to you!

You will be fine. I completely understand. My husband will have his surgery on April 13th and it is a 2 hour drive for us. Not sure yet if we will get a hotel the night before as he does not have to be at the hospital until 8:30 but with Atlanta rush hour traffic we would have to leave around 4 in the morning as we lose an hour crossing the border from AL to GA. Insurance will only reimburse up to $50 a night and there is no way there is a hotel that will only be $50 a night in downtown Atlanta. Good Luck and see you on the loser bench real soon!.

Lanette,

Right there with you! Tomorrow's D-day for me as well. I haven't been able to sleep all night (*Maybe* had something to do with waking up at 3:00 in the afternoon, I don't know, I'm not a doctor.) I'm pretty uptight and tweaked as well, but probably not for the same reasons. I'm not really scared of the surgery per se. What's the worst that can happen? I cash on the operating table? Great! See ya next life, baby! But the thought of having to get into one of those Guatemalan army surplus gowns at the hospital whose three remaining connected threads leave *nothing* to the imagination, now that sucks a bag of d!*ks.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll be just aces.

Take care,

Tom

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. I am very happily sleeved and have had a great day all in all. Surgery was 7:30am. I had a decent amount of pain waking up but they got itunder control pretty quickly. I have felt pretty great the rest of the day with a lot less pain meds. Have my leak test at 7:30 this morning (Tues) and on to Clear Liquids if that goes well. Then hopefully home tomorrow afternoon. So far, so good! Haven't even THOUGHT about food today or felt hunger in the least. So ready to be a few months out and totally settled in to my sleeve. I will say that I had been reading a lot of the stories about rough surgery days and had myself all nervous. That's why I wanted to post tonight and let people know what a positive experience it was. Now if the next 5 days will go this way! ;) drifting back off to sleep.....cya!

Hey guys...just wanted to update here since a few of you have upcoming surgeries. I will say that Thursday (day 3 post op) was by far my hardest. I was still on clear liquids and was having a hard time with drinking anything b/c everything sounded horrible, taste horrible, made me gag, etc. I never did actually throw up, but boy I could have. I took my phenegran and pain meds and slept the rest of that day off and prayed Friday would be better After that things really started looking up. I only tell you guys this to say that you need to prepare for a rough day....whether it's day 3 or 4, etc. Just know ahead of time that once you get to full liquids it gets SO much better. I'm already able to drink so much easier without every drink causing gas pressure and can finally get in some Protein. Just remember what everyone says about walking. Get up as soon as they will let you and increase the time every chance you get. Let us know how things go on the 8th and the 11th!!

Thanks so much for this post! I am scheduled for 4/18, and vacillate between excitement and fear. It doesn't worry me to have a kind of rough time for a while--it's just so nice to have people sharing how fast it gets better, and to not get too concerned that a few rough days. BTW--where did you do your surgery?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
