How can any stand the taste of greek yogurt?

Recommended Posts

I bought some Chobani because I see so many people on here mentioning how great it is.... Ughhh that stuff is god awful!! It taste like sour wallpaper paste! Please tell me the flavored Greek yogurts taste better?

I can tell you that the brands with higher fat content taste better and don't have the sugar. I use Fage 2%, and I mix it with Splenda and cinnamon.

Other than that, why does anyone like anything or hate anything? I personally think root beer is the most revolting beverage on earth and I rather eat ear wax than drink that soapy dishwater tasting swill. Not everything is for everyone :-)

  I love the comparison to wallpaper paste! that is so funny! I love the Dannon Greek yogurts, my favorite is the vanilla! I also mix my vanilla Protein powder into it . . . this is my favorite thing to eat. . . but that is just me. . . you may not like it. . . good luck

That is hilarious!!!! I agree that Greek yogurt (specifically Chobani because that's all I've had) is pretty disgusting... I couldn't stomach it either... I LOVE Lucky Layla farms drinkable yogurt... They are a local dairy (we can even see the cows!).. So I buy milk, yogurt, cheese, butter from them... I totally suggest their yogurts.. So good!!! Plus it supports a local farm (local to Plano, TX at least lol) that actually treats its cows well!! No horrible living conditions or growth hormone..

I eat the Fage 2% and put a packet of Spenda in it--makes it tolerable. I thought Chobani was awful, too.

I couldn't stand greek yogurt either. If you have a Kroger or Fred Meyer near you, you might want to try Kroger Carbmaster yogurt - 80 calories, 4g carb, 12g Protein. I liked it much better.

I love both Dannon and Yoplait vanilla greek yogurt. Both are fat free. Yoplait has a higher carb and Protein count than Dannon. It appears that the more the flavor, the higher the carb. count. I prefer the Dannon Vanilla over the Yoplait though.

Another brand I eat occasionally is Atheno's. Their Peach Greek Yogurt is really good too. Not as much Protein as the others. http://www.athenos.com/products.aspx

Trader Joe's carries more traditional Greek Yogurt which has a little texture to it.

Plain Greek yogurt is just nasty but like someone else above mentioned, you can mix in flavored Protein Powder (it will change the consistency of the yogurt but at least it adds flavor).

The first I ever tried was teh Oikos plain and it was so terrible, it kept me from eating it for months!! Then I tried the Chobani with fruit and I totally loved it. Going to get me some more as soon as I find time to hit the grocery store.

I will also try adding Protein powder in too, as someone suggested, that's a really great idea.

I can't stand Greek yogurt! I have tried many brands and they were all awful! My doctor suggested Low-Fat Activia as he is a big finatic on pro-biotics. I do like these ones and have one every night for my evening snack. There are other alternative to Greek yogurt. Find what works best for you and go with that. Everyone has different tastes and they were definetly not for me either!

Plain greek yogurt is pretty disgusting. You could try what I do, since I buy the big container of plain Chobani. I put in a splash of vanilla extract, a splenda and a dash of cinnamon. I also throw a few slivered almonds on top for some texture sometimes. And if you freeze it it tastes like custard to me. Enjoy!

I get 0% Fage and add SF Torani coffee syrups to them. They have tons of different flavors. The only problem with some of the above mentioned yogurts is the sugar content. It may be low in fat or fat free, but we all know that sugar turns to fat. I also add the SF Torani coffee Syrups to my Protein shakes, cottage cheese, etc. Yummy!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
