Nope!! Had mine taken out nearly 5 yrs ago after having issues off and on for about 4 yrs and none of the tests showing that the Gall Bladder was the issue... When it went, it went in grand fashion.. LOL I was at my companies holiday party on Friday night... started feeling sick on Sunday night.. called my parents Monday morning to come take me to the ER... my mom had to call my boss and tell him I was in the hospital and having surgery the next day.. he was like, "we just saw her Friday night at the party" LOL the surgeon came in after the surgery and told me that my gall bladder was gangrenous (sp?) and should have come out months ago... I told him, "I wasn't in this pain a few months ago" LOL the good thing is that my surgeon didn't have to remove it before he banded me... LOL

I'm scheduled to have my gallbladder removed and a hiatal hernia repaired 10/23. Been having pain for the past 2 months or so. Ultrasound shows stones. About 18 years ago I had problems with my GB but tests never showed any stones. After I lost some weight I stopped having problems with it until now.

Back in the Phen Phen Diet pill days 1997 or so I lost 45 pounds and developed gall bladder problems. Dr. said when you lose fast it can happen. Was banded 2-9-10 and had large hiatal hernia repaired also. Feeling great and no issues so far. Best of luck to all Feb bandsters!!!

I have a 40 year history of overweight and dieting. Never had any diagnosed gall bladder issues. I was banded 7/22/09 and have lost nearly 100 pounds.

On 4/6/10 I was at a meeting of our fire board and I started to feel ill. As the secretary of the board, I tried powering through the pain. Three times I had the fire chief (and an EMT) assist me in my office. During my third recess I told the Chief that I needed to go to the hospital. (Unfortunately my dh was out of town.) The Chief called 911 and initiated a call-out. Approx a dozen members responded (who wouldn't respond to a medical call at the fire station?). The town ambulance finally came and I was carted off to the hospital 25 miles away. When the ER doc did a quick ultra-sound, the smart-ass said "It's a girl!!!". Gallstones was the diagnosis. My ultimate surgeon happened to be finishing up in the OR but on seeing my scans, he determined it wasn't an emergency and I could wait.

Our Asst Fire Chief and EMS Captain were with me in the ER so they drove me home. I was able to get an appt on Wednesday with the surgeon; my dh got home right after that appt; I got scheduled for surgery on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

One attack was enough for me. Living as far from doctors as I do, I didn't want another attack.

I'm glad the gb is gone and haven't seemed to have any issues since.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
