I'm so happy with my sleeve, down 48 lbs at week 18. I'm finally ok with only losing 1-2 lbs a week. I'm glad the scale is going in right direction! (Sleeved 4/22). post-22621-13813658812702_thumb.jpg day before surgery post-17450-13813658813251_thumb.jpg My son made me buy this red women's large T-shirt while trying to get a mens XXL. Very surprised how I looked. Praise God!!

Great Job! I was sleeved 4/29! And my husband recently made me buy a few Large size tops (my usual was XXL) and I was also amazed that not only did they fit, I was actually comfortable in them!! Keep up the great work!

Well Howdy neighbor (Jenison here). Have you been to the Monday night surgical peer support group at GHP? IF not' date=' why not? Monday 5-6pm, great group![/quote']

Hello. I live in GR and will have my sleeve in 3 months. Ugh. It's so long to wait. I will have Dr Foote from GHP. Good to know of other GR area GHP'ers. ;)

Hi there - I'm from the Downriver Area (Wyandotte). Had my VSG on 5/28/13 so 3 1/2 months post-op. I'm down 52 lbs since surgery, for a total of 86 lbs since starting this journey. I had my surgery performed at Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit with Dr. Arthur Carlin. Awesome experience all around and have never regretted a thing! :)

Hi, I am from Grosse Ile. I had my surgery 6/25 and am down 40 lbs total. I also had mine done at HFH-Detroit but by Dr. Genaw, who is partners with Dr. Carlin. I had a good experience and am doing well so far. Congrats to you!

You'll love Dr. Baker. My mother had him for her surgery. I had him my EGD. He was great, really friendly. We had ours done in Petoskey though.

Hey all! Had my surgery last Thursday' date=' May 16, at Beaumont Royal Oak by Dr. Chengelis. He is awesome! Recovery has been surprisingly easy. Definitely still sore, but I haven't had any horrible side affects like a lot of people experience. Worst thing has been the gas pressure!! But hopefully that will be done soon!

Good luck to you all!![/quote']

On track for Feb surgery at Beaumont too. Don't have a surgeon preference... Krause or Chengelis are fine I suppose. Any recommendations? Any comments on Beaumont WL center policies or stuff that I should know about? I live in eastern Sterling Heights. ...Thank you!

I am going to saints...they don't do many surgeries at blodgett anymore and I used to work on that unit.....so although it was a great place with awesome people I kinda like the idea of going to saints so I can relax and heal and not wonder what all my old coworkers are doing ect ect......

I have an appt on Monday to get my insurance paperwork submitted to Blue Care Network. For all the Grand Health Partners sleevers, about how long "out" were your sleeves scheduled after your insurance approval came through? I am concerned that my insurance will approve around the beginning of October but that when I go to schedule my surgery I'm not going to be able to get in for weeks! I guess what I'm asking is... how long did you have to wait from insurance approval to the day you actually got your sleeve?

My paperwork went in on a Thurs or Fri & was called on Mon approved & they wanted to sked in 2 weeks. I had to sked for 4 weeks due to my work sked. Mine was done in Grand Haven so that may have made it quicker. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
