My Butt Hurts!

Recommended Posts

I've lost close to 80 lbs and my butt hurts when I sit at my desk - it's didn't used to! I don't remember things digging into my hip bones either.

Wonder what could be wrong?

LOL! Myrori, you shouldn't compare your rate of loss to anyone else. Stay positive!! Your journey is your own, and I think you're doing really good. I've lost 50 Lbs in 5 months. Lots have lost WAY more than me, but trust me - I'm proud and happy of every single pound!!!

@Rootman, I totally agree with you! I was sitting outside last week on the stone benches and my booty sure doesn't have the padding it used to at one time... :D It was really uncomfortable!!

Wait until you have to put a pillow between your knees because you aren't used to them rubbing each other when you try to sleep. LOL!

What wonderful problems we thin people have now!

Actually they didn't weigh me at surgery time and my start weight was at the beginning of my pre-op diet. I voluntarily started 2 weeks before surgery so it's actually more like 80 pounds in 11 weeks.

I had/have the same problem. Actually the other day i was sitting in a chair and when i got up you could see the bone imprints! Now there was a switch! I pointed it out to hubbie and he got such a kick out of it. . . guess it goes with the territory huh?

Rootman, I must say, working in a STD/HIV dept in a major city, the title of your topic really caught my attention!

My dance teacher had us do sit-ups on the hardwood floor yesterday and my tailbone hurt so bad, I couldn't get through the exercise! Nothing hurts when I sit, though - but thanks to my genetics, my last bastion of fat is centered right in the butt/upper thigh area, so I think I'd have to get to like 100 lbs before my butt would be skinny enough to hurt when I sit!

Yeah, I never thought I would have knobby knees, but sure enough, they are all bone now and it hurts like hell when I sleep on my side. Stupid weight loss! ;)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
