It'll be so great to mark all those things off your list!

I posted a similar list when I joined the board a few weeks ago, went something like this:

1. ability to hike/walk/swim on vacations without limitation

2. doctor will take me off meds for polycystic ovaries if I get below 200#

3. save money on fast food

4. shopping & clothes...feeling good about my size & how I look in them

5. to bike like I used to with friends

I cannot wait to look back on this list and check-check-check them all off!

I havent even thought of making a wish list! This is a great idea!!

1. Be able to wear a bathing suit w/out being embarrassed

2. Have my daughters look at me in admiration, thinking "wow, I want to be like Momma"

3. Be able to shave my nay-nay again (sorry-TMI)

4. Wear my nice work suits again that are hanging in my closet collecting dust

5. Be able to join a fast pitch softball league and actually play

6. Paint my toes, tie my shoes, walk up the stairs w/out panting

7. Actually look forward to taking walks with my girls and the dog

8. And most of all, have lots of energy to play with my girls and husband w/out having to take breaks!

OMG, I can go on and on!! But I think these will be ok for now.

My 2 of 3 month supervised diet w/surgeon's office is next week... then I'm a month away from submitting for approval and then FREEDOM! I simply can't wait!!

I need to make a list! I forgot for 2 days while I've been home getting sick because I drank too fast, or hating Clear liquids and medicines. You just reminded me to remind myself why I did this.

Thank you!

well I've never been tempted to shave my naynay - but for me....

-Being able to walk barefoot in temples (while on holiday) without the bones on my feet being painful

-Not suffering in the heat because I'm too fat

-Being confident enough to go swimming

-Not being too embarrassed to visit people because I'm so much bigger than when they last saw me

-Taking a trip to the Great Wall of China or Macchu Pichu because I'll finally be fit enough

-Not feeling like a hypocrite when I talk to my diabetic patients about the benefits of losing weight

Boy, I can relate to many of these posted on this thread- but ESPECIALLY the one about not being worried about visiting people I haven't seen for a long time like relatives and old friends. I dread visits "back home", sometimes I've been way down on my weight and then other times I have gone way up. I have a few relatives that are so critical even if they don't say anything directly to me, I can tell in some of their comments what they really mean. My father's side of the family is scattered with many overweight folks, my mom's side not as much- but what is amazing is I get this criticism even from some of the overweight people. You can bet I will not be sharing that I had any type of WLS.

These are great! I want to take a family picture. We don't have any because I am always so self consious about how big I am.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
