11 days out and have a question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i am 11 days out and a little confused right now, i've lost about 10lbs and thought this is great, slow and steady right, well now i am on the soft foods and have stopped losing, is this normal?? im not feeling a lot of restriction but i am certainly not eating anything like i used to before i was sleeved, is this a stall do you think or should i be getting worried, after going through the surgery and if this is a stall it just seems to too soon, anyway any advice would be great.

many thanks

viv

Here's the entire search of the forum for stalls. You can click on any that might catch your eye.

Essentially, your body is still pissed off, and just dropped an extraordinary amount of weight in a short period of time. Yes, it's a stall that might break any day, or it will be a real stall and last 2-3 weeks, and it's all perfectly normal. Keep following your program, relax and let your body recover.

My surgeon doesn't consider it a stall until you go 14 days without any loss on the scale.

Hiya Viv, Angela here.

Like you I'm now on the soft food. Everything has gone great so far, apart from having really bad Constipation for a couple of days but that has now been sorted.

I can't help you with the stalling subject. Can I just tell you though that I have still not weighed myself since the day of the op. I don't want to get caught up in the jumping on and off the scale thing and ending up disappointed if I haven't lost as much as I want and feeling defeated when the stall hits. I'm actually going to try to not get on the scale until I see the dietitian in a months time.

My main focus, at the moment is to get over the op, get well and back to normal as soon as possible. I have another couple of weeks before I go back to work.

I'll be more than happy for the weight to come off steadily as I know that, as long as I use this wonderful tool that I feel so fortunate to have been given properly, it will come off and stay off this time.

I can tell that I have lost some weight. Even after just 11 days my rings are spinning round and I can see that my face looks thinner when I look in the mirror. I've also been able to get into clothes that were a bit too tight to wear when I tried them just before surgery. I'm using things like this as a gauge of how it is going.

I know we're all different in how we deal with things and what we expect. I just find that this is the best way for me but, as they say :

" Whatever floats your boat " Ha Ha !!!!

Keep up the good work Viv and keep in touch.

Best wishes

Your sleeve twin

Angela xx

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
