Tomorrow is the big day!

In just 9 hours i will be on a plane to Mexico, to have my band to sleeve revision. i am really nervous about doing this alone, but excited for this new chapter in my life. i am an emotionl wreck, but im greatful for all of you and your support. the hardest part about this so far has been the liquid diet! im starving!!!!!!!! ive read that some people go out for a last meal the night before and others have to be on a liquid diet for days or even weeks. why the difference?

i will post from mexico as soon as i can, and im taking my video camera.i would like to film the whole experience if they will allow it. i sure would have liked to watch a video like that before my journey.

Great to hear Shaundra! I am scheduled for the 25th with Mr. Almanza. I too have read some negative comments, but I've also heard some good. I am glad you got your own room at the recovery house. I was told that it may not be possible.: :( That is my only reservation so far. I hate the thought of having to recover with a stranger. You are in my prayers.

Shaundra---the hardest part is now behind you! Thank you so much for writing to the rest of us, esp those of us awaiting surgery. You have courage and dignity and grace and we all admire you! Godspeed on your recovery!

thank you! im doing great, just a little homesick cause i miss my daughter. i really wanted to go to dr kelly, but dr Almanza was more affordable. im so happy that i didnt listen to all the negative things i read before i left and just went with my gut. everything was fine, and im at the recovery house now.i have my own room with cable and wi-fi and there is always a nurse here at the recovery house and a driver. she is in the kitchen now cooking up some yummy smelling broth and the driver took me out shopping today. i found an awesome chihuahua toy for my daughter. if you are considering dr almanza i can give you christis number. she is my coordinator and she was also a patient. most of the staff have also had the sleeve. i have no regrets about comong here, and i really was scared. i cried A LOT the day of surgery! and i did this all by myself!!!! if you have any more questions please let me know. i will be posting a video of my journey when i get home.
