Someone asked about calories upthread. I'm 8 weeks out now. My NUT said I should be eating between 800 and 1200 calories daily. I try to get closer to the 1200 calories on work out days, less on the non work out days. So far this strategy has been working well, I seem to be consistently losing weight each week. Every other day I will lose a lb or two. I'm a four day a week work out kind of girl, totally based around my TV schedule (okay not in the summer but during the fall/winter/spring). Today I did 55 minutes of cardio - 30 minutes on the treadmill at 3mph at a 6% incline and then another 25 minutes on the recumbent bike. Then I went and did a lot of chest and back, with some legs and abs. I really burn a lot of calories on the cardio (and I tend to estimate the calories conservatively) so I need to eat some back lest I end up super crabby.

Wow! I cannot get more in than 800 calories in at the most. I'm full all of the time. I'm a 4 day gym girl too. I do an hour on the treadmill increasing my incline every 5 minutes until I reach 15 incline and then I come back down and run my last 10 minutes. I also do the elliptical on hills increasing my every 10 minutes. I also do a lot of inner thigh and chest and back. I haven't started ab work. I plan to start abs on my 3 month anniversary. I lose a 1lb to 1.8lbs most weeks but last week was big. I also noticed before a big loss I gain a lb and loss tons of inches and then I see a loss.

Hello Everyone,

My insurance has given the go-ahead for my surgery. I am scheduled for July 29th. The insurance approval was really quick. My paperwork was submitted on Friday June 27th, and I was approved today July 2nd. I was shocked because I didn't expect to have surgery until sometime in August. I'm really excited and really nervous at the same time. I started this process in December. It's gone by so quickly.

What's up Fam? I'm just finding you guys tonight and glad I did. My VSG is less than 8 hrs and I can't sleep. Excited but extremely nervous.

I wasn't required to do a 7 day pre op but I did away. All the food funerals cause me to gain a few...several pounds.

For the who are willing say a little prayer for me. Thank you and see you on the lighter side.

Hi I'm Jenna! I'm 18 and my surgery is being paid for by insurance. I start my 10 day liquid diet tomorrow on the 4th! And my surgery is scheduled for July 14. I have a team of doctors (nutritionist, exercise professional, nurse, PA, psychologist, and the surgeon) that have been helping me get to this point and that are going to help me out after. I have one last appointment with them July 8 and my appointment with the surgeons is July 11. I'm new on here and this is my first post I hope I'm doing this right haha. If you guys have any advice that would be awesome

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
