January 11th is the day!!!

Recommended Posts

wow, so here I go! I am scheduled to be sleeved at 7:30am on January 11th! I can't believe its here already! Started my liquid diet yesterday. Made it through day one lol...which I wasn't so sure I could do. I have my pre op clearance with my family doc today, so I am on the fast track to a new me. I am so excited, and majorly scared. I know that sounds kinda silly, but surgery just scares me to begin with. But a lifetime of being over weight scares me more. :( any helpful hints to surviving the liquid diet?

My date is January 11 TOO!!! I get my time next Thursday! Being on the liquid diet is HARD but only at night....if that makes sense!!! Let's keep in touch on our NEW JOURNEY!! I feel the same way EXCITED and SCARED but that is NATURAL!! On my liquid diet I get to have three protien drinks a day and all the Water, crystal light, and tea I want. Is that what you are doing?

the liquid part is easy when i am busy. so i can see why you say the night is soo hard. you have more time to think about it, and watching tv is the worst lol...the food commercials lol makes me hungry. so i know its all in my head. i get 3 Protein shakes...that i can mix with milk...but then thats done 24 hrs before surgery. i can have broth...jello...and crystal light. and all the Water i can drink. lol woohoo. but my NUT told me yesterday that i can by like vegetable Soups and strain them for the broth if it spices things up for me so i dont get so bored. but i am on day 2 and so far i dont feel like robbing the local mcdonalds lol so i am doing okay. we absolutely have to keep in touch. where are you having your surgery done?

I'm having my surgery in Victoria, TX by Dr. McDaniel. You made me LAUGH about McDonald's....I SO wanted to have a BIG MAC before I started this but then THOUGHT a BIG MAC is what got me into this shape and SIZE! LOL I SO CRAVED BIG MAC's when I was PG with my first child!! LOL

I just went to bed at 8 last night just so I wouldn't eat!!! I have ALWAYS been a night time eater! I'm on vacation right now so I'm cleaning out my cabinets to keep busy today! LOL

I don't know how to work this website to add a ticker or information about my sleeve...like you have Jan 11 getting sleeved with....

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
