Can it really be this easy??

So I am 1 week out and I am thinking.......Can it really be this easy? I was so scared to have my surgery. The procedure, Mexico, dying.......ok I am a bit dramatic but hey I thought it. I had my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Ramos Kelly and he was amazing. Everything I wanted and more. My recovery has been unbelieveable. I feel so good I can't believe I just had surgery. I have to admit I am not looking forward to tomorrow. My mother in law is an amazing cook and my family will be at her house the entire day surrounded by amazing food. But I just read something that Tiffkins posted and I really liked it. She said NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS! So when I am looking at that amazing food that is what I am going to tell myself as I eat some Jello ; ) I am so happy right now and I feel so blessed that this has been an amazing experience for me. I wish all the best and a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am having a very similar experience. I had surgery on the 18th and I am completely back to my old self except the eating. I have done a lot of errands and chores, I have cooked for my family and guests, been for a bike ride, and (TMI warning) made my husband happy sooner than he thought I'd be able to.

I was really expecting this to be much harder, and I couldn't be more pleased it isn't.

I know not everyone's experience has been this easy, but I encourage anyone who is having fears and considering canceling to overcome them......it is so worth it.

Thank you, PlannerGirl! My surgery is in a little over two weeks, and I'm starting to feel scared! But, I know from reading this forum that it is well worth it. But, it's always, always, always helpful to hear of someone who has an easy recovery!!!

I know you've already had surgery....and hopefully you are doing GREAT! I just wanted to let you know, my surgery was June 11th and I have not thrown up ONE time.....they sent me home with a prescription, something anti nausea that I had filled and have never used. I may be one of the lucky ones....but I was determined NOT to throw up! :) I have always been careful about the amount I eat etc - so if I did get sick, it wasn't going to be because I was shoveling too much in!!! Good luck, you should be feeling a little better by now!

Dear NTV: It is so kind of you to write me and encourage me. I can't get OVER how nice every single person on this BLOG is, and how positive and encouraging. It is wonderful to feel part of a true community.

Just wanted to say, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! I have not felt nauseous at ALL, except for the day of surgery, but they gave me meds instantly to take that away. You're also right, I am becoming VERY aware of my new body signals that say THAT:S ENOUGH... and I have to train myself to eat slower. But I am one happy camper, believe you me.

Thank GOD for the wonderful docs and nurses... I feel so lucky to be born at this moment in time, when we could benefit from this fantastic surgery.

You have a wonderful Christmas.

My Doc put me on Omeprazole 40 mg...and he said the reflux will usually subside after 3-4 months. BUT I am on this for now because I haven't had this since I was pregnant! Not fun.... Watch when you eat that you drink 30 minutes later because that causes it to happen. I learned that on here...and it holds very true. I am on soft foods and there is no difference from when I was on liquids. he said it actually gets worse with more dense food.
