6 months out and questions?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys its been a few months since I logged in. I am 6 months out and I went from 200lb to 132. I eat whatever I want to and I still get full pretty fast. I have been going to the gym and my skin has tightened up but I have A LOT of stretch marks. Anyone have tips to diminish these lines??? Also Vitamins still make me sick and sometimes I still throw them up. I was thinking about flinstone vitamins. Has anybody used those??? I also bought calcium chews from Target but it does not specify if there citrate or carbonate. Should I avoid them or use them up??? Any opinions would be great. Thanks!

I use Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate lozenges in the cinnamon flavor. They're chewable and taste great!! I've been fortunate to be able to take regular multi-Vitamins that I swallow, but I know Bariatric Advantage makes them also in a chewable form.

As for the stretch marks, I can't help there. I just try to ignore mine...ha! Knock wood - they haven't been too bad so far.

Congrats on your success that is exactly what I am hoping for with my results. I was 199 and hope to get to around 140-145. YAY thanks for the update, though I have no advice on the vits. GOOD JOB

Stretch marks- take Vitamin e also use Vitamin e lotion and cocoa butter. I have found that the cocoa butter stick works pretty well. they never go away, but it helps them fade.

Try to find citrate. My nut said that it is hard to find chewable citrate except at bariatrics sights. You could take calcium citrate pills if you can tolerate. Flintstone Vitamins aren't the best to take, but better than nothing.

Contests on the weight lose!!!

I get my calcium citrate chewables from vitacost.com. You can get all sorts of stuff there and they have a flat shipping rate of 4.99 for no matter

how much you order,.

I also get chocolate calcium citrate chewables from Bariatric Advantage. If you are on automatic shipping they send 60 every 30 days, but they are only 250 mg so you have to eat 2. They are the consistency of a starburst

I get my adult chewable Gummy Vitamins from costco. Do not use Flinstones because they are for children and do not have everything you need..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
