I've lost a bag of charcoal!

Recommended Posts

I've lost 24 lbs. That sounds pretty good to me. Yesterday, while working in the garage with DH, I saw a 24 bag of charcoal. I picked up and walked around. Oof! Heavy. I gave it to DH and asked if it was pretty heavy and he said yep! His eyes got big when I told him that was how much I have lost so far and need to lose 3 more of them. Really drives it home when you can relate pounds lost to something tangible.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :bandit

What a great comparison. You and me, girl -- we've both lost a bag of charcoal! Maybe we should have a bbq?

I regularly visit the dog food aisle at the grocery store. We don't have a dog. I just like to trudge up and down with a 50 pound bag and realize..."I have lost 60+ pounds!!!!! No wonder I felt like crap!!!!!"

Feels good, don't it?! Well done! Keep up the good work!

(I also like how hubby's eyes got big...yup, that makes it real!)

That is so cool! Isn't it amazing that we were able to carry that junk inside of us but trying to pick it up is so hard. Wow, that's amazing to think of our accomplishments this way...you should be very proud!:clap2:

My granddaughter asked me how much weight I had lost. At the time it was 48 lbs. She got all excited and told me "You lost one of me!!!!" We both laughed about it all day...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
