Typical 'southern' girl, you were pretty before surgery.....now you KNOW you look amazing!!!!! Congrats, keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!! I know you feel great about yourself!!!!!!!!!! :001_smile:

Today is my 5 month surgiversary.

Everything is going great...I don't have really anything new to report.

I'm down 67 lbs since surgery and 91 total.

I haven't taken measurements in a while...need to do that soon.

I'm still not exercising very much...wish I could make myself LIKE it. I did walk 2 miles tonight.

I don't log my food everyday but I eat pretty much the same things over and over so I have a good idea where I am on any given day.

I love my sleeve....my hubby named her Veronica. LOL Don't ask..he names everything including our houseplants.

I have so much more energy now and I'm starting to like shopping again. One of my employees came over this evening and I cleaned out my closet and gave her 4 garbage bags worth of clothes. I think I now have about 3 pair of pants that fit...lol

I went from a tight 24 pants and 2x/3x shirt to a 16 pants and a regular xl shirt.

Starting to get a little flabby and wrinkly in my upper arms and inner thighs but it's not too terribly bad yet.

I've had zero problems so far and other than being impatient I've had a very textbook experience.

All my co-morbs are gone which is the absolute BEST thing about losing weight.

I feel like I'm gaining my health back which is the best feeling. I didn't even realize how much my weight was affecting my health and holding me back from LIFE.

To anybody on the fence...I say GO FOR IT..this is the best thing I've ever done myself and I've not had a single moment's regret.

I'm over halfway to goal and hoping I'll make it there. I have great restriction although it does vary. It's a very strange thing to me still.

I had to dig deep to find some before pics because I absolutely HATE pics of myself....and they're quite embarrassing to me. I still don't like the camera so my two post op pics are self pics with my iphone that I took to send to one of my best friends who lives in a different state than me.

You and I were sleeved one day apart and your write-up here is very close to where I am, too. I am down 105 pounds now and similar clothing stats, too. I actually bought a size 14 skirt today - I haven't worn that size in 20 years. Simply amazing.

You are doing GREAT. Like you and other posters said, I would have to dig very deep to find some old pictures of me and be BRAVE enough to post them. I am a chicken shit *lol* .. but I will soon. So many people around me are finally saying something about my weight loss now. It's humbling on one side and a reminder on the other that life has changed significantly already. I am aiming for another 40 pounds.

Way to go! Great post .. thanks for the update.

Wow Blue...you're doing GREAT! Be brave....if I can do it you can do it...post some pics!

I bought a few pair of pants that are size 14 because they were very cheap...but I can't wear them yet. Hopefully soon though!

I'm seriously running out of clothes

Oh my god *lol* .. I will soon, I promise.

I have NO clothes left. I just did a consignment a few days ago and put in pretty much everything I owned. I am having to go and buy things now but what really rocked were the tight new jeans I bought. Waahoo! It was GREAT. I felt so good and the funny thing is that I am not where I want to be yet so I know the best is still coming. I am buying smaller sizes that I can't get into yet, too .. the motivation is there .. it will be soon I hope.

Simply put .. I am proud of you. You are doing great :thumbup1:

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
