Hey Lisa,

Yes, mine is at INT hopital in TJ. I think I have already gained 10-15 lbs. They put me on a 2 week pre op diet too, but I'm getting bigger by the weeks its seems and I'm scared that I am going to complicate my surgery (with a fatter liver:w00t:) if I don't get control of this eating thing. So I'm going to start a couple week earlier.

Thanks for well wishes and I hope all the best for you too! I'm sure we will be just fine. I better go to bed now, I have a very early morning.

Talk to you later,

Ka

Hey who are you doing your surgery with on the 22nd.. I am doing mine with Dr. Ortiz.. I sooo wish the next few months would fly by...

I'm doing mine here in NJ with Dr. Washington. The time is passing quicker than I thought, but it does still seem like a long way off. I can't believe September is almost over and it's less than 2 months away!!!!

Hi Ms Lisa,

I have 70 more pounds to lose, I am happy to have a place you can discuss your weight issues with individuals that have walked that path too. I have been able to lose 15lbs, and keep it off 6 months but then I got stuck and I am fighting to keep it off. Thanks for your reply :scared0: it's nice to have a place like this for support and informatiom.

ya, I know what you mean about trying to keep weight off, I think we all

do,lol:biggrin0:

Yes I am getting excited, I am scheduled for the sleeve but I am still thinking about the plication surgery, the plication is what I was planning on getting from the beginning and then I have been reading on here about the surgery and now I am leaning twords the sleeve, I have 100 lbs to loose and I just think it might be better to get the sleeve with that much weight to loose. I dont know im still debating:confused1:

Have a great night

Lisa

I had surgery with Dr. Washington on 7/21, and I must tell you he is awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. He was in my room early every morning, asking me how I was - and he was very sympathetic to my issues (mostly nausea, since I have trouble with anesthesia in general).

How long were you in the hospital? I really liked Dr. Washington when I heard him talk at the seminar, but it is good to hear from someone who actually had him for surgery. I have my consult with him in about a month.

Looks like you're doing great from your stats!

My surgery was Wednesday afternoon, I was discharged on Friday morning. There was a possibility of going home on Thursday, but my nausea made that impossible. The recovery wasn't awful, but just be advised that Dr. Washington keeps a surgical drain in until the one week post-op visit. Cumbersome, but not awful. I was actually supposed to talk about the sleeve at the August seminar, but I chickened out lol.

Looks like you're doing great from your stats!

Thanks! I'm at school in Florida now, so that makes it tough to stay on track, but I'm still losing at a good clip. I look forward to getting back home in December so I can get back to the support group meetings then.

If you have any more questions about Dr. Washington or the surgery in general, feel free to ask.

If things go as we are hoping they will go over the next 2 months and insurance approves quickly we are shooting for a November Date.. I want to be able to enjoy my Christmas Holiday with no worries of pain/swelling.. If not and I have a December Date that will be fine, but as of right now we are shooting for the last week of November..

Not looking forward to the drain, but if that is the worst I have to put up with, I guess it isn't too bad. :biggrin0:

I've gone to the last few support group meetings and that has been really helpful. Surprisingly, there have been quite a few sleeve patients there. Just very nervous and excited. Hope the next two months go quickly!

Hi I am having my sleeve surgery the Friday before Thanksgiving. I will be in Tijuana with Dr. Lopez.

Let's update each other on how we are doing. We can encourage each other as well.

Good luck with everything!

Absolutely.. how have you been doing. Have you started your pre diet yet. I havent, My best friend is getting married in a week so weve had lots of showers and parties so I figured I would start after that. I have found my self eating all of my favorite foods and too much of them.. LOL.. so i really need to get on track. I have not been on here in a while I was kinda freaking myself out readying too much about everybodys issues so decided to stay away. hope your doing great. :)

I am totally new to this site and forum and Im not sure if I am posting stuff right or not! lol... Anyway, I just got my November 3rd surgery date a few days ago. I am sooooo excited that I am being blessed with this tool to help me on my weight loss journey...I have been trying to get this done now for almost 4 years...Now that its here its surreal to me! Im so scared something is going to happen to throw a wrench in the monkey works!! I pray every day that things will go smoothly! Im just SOOO excited! It will be a long journey for me since I have 200 lbs to lose... but so worth it, to be with my husband and kids and see my grandkids someday! I just feel really blessed! My pre-op diet starts a week before surgery....and what is this instinct to eat like a horse now that I know this is coming up..I really have to tell myself NO!

Welcome, Christy! I'm right there with you weight wise. I've already started with a shake a day. I think they'll probably put me on two shakes at my appointment next week. Then I go to just liquids for at least two weeks. Not looking forward to it. Though I've seen a few people say that once you get past the third day, it's not too bad. I may try to freeze one shake a day, to give me the illusion of eating. Lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
