inconsistent weight loss ... anyone else? (again)

Recommended Posts

I thought I was the only one.. :) I lost 30 pounds since June 30th. But, the last 2-3 weeks I have not lost a POUND! I have been working harder than ever at the gym and am not seeing the scale move. So, I have thrown my scale away and will resort to waiting when I go to my doctor at the end of September and take it from there. It is frustrating! But, I am glad to hear that I am not the only one. :)

Hello fellow sleevers...

Just thought I would put this out there to see if any one has been in the same or similar position...

I am nearly 9 weeks post op and I feel great. The healing process for me was ok and I had no issues at all!!

My weight loss is good and I am not complaining (honest) in fact, I can honestly say that I have never lost 29lb in 9 weeks before, in my life, EVER!!!

However, my weight loss is sooooo inconsistent and I am really frustrated by this, I had a stall from 2 1/2 weeks to around week 5 and then I lost a few pounds and then nothing again...!!!!

Has anyone else experienced this; I was sorta hoping that I would lose a steady amount weekly (that sounds a little self assured and it isn't meant to be) as this is what I was lead to believe by my surgeon!

x

NB I posted this in the wrong place the first time, so sorry if you have read this twice...lol

Any words of wisdom or advise would be greatly received...

xx

Try a stall 3 1/2 months long! Now that is frustrating. . but at least we're not gaining right! Good luck, your doing good and a trick is "don't stress so much over the weight loss" it's coming off slowly but surely. . . Rome wasn't built in one day either. . .

OMG, thinoneday... 3 1/2 months... that must of been awful... how did you break it?

I see from your ticker that you have lost an incredible amount of weight... even after that awful stall you must be feeling great and looking great too... any hints for us relative newbies?? x

I had another little stall (meaning the scales said the same for 3 days in a row), which ended today with another 2lbs lost overnight ...

I know I must stop weighing every time I go in the bathroom, but it's compulsive!

I wish I had started taking measurements before and after, as many of my clothes are hanging off me! Sometimes, there is inch loss which is not reflected in kilos or pounds.

Nil Desperandum, losers!

I have been losing off and on from date of surgery. I try not to weigh often- like every two weeks. It is still frustrating to weight at two week intervals and find a lb or 2 gone... but I am sure my body is adjusting to everything still.

I could drink more Water, and I could do more cardio... so perhaps that is the answer.

I think I'm in the same boat. I was losing and then I've gained back two pounds. Doesn't make much sense. I've got to stop getting on the scale every day too. When I was home from work right after and I got my scale (it was a gift) there was one day where I was on it like every hour. I think it might have been just the idea of having my own scale. Who knows. I'm hoping to get on the losing track again here soon though.

I need to walk aways from the scale too, I just cant believe IM stuck already! nothing in the last 4 days! I know it is my body adjusting to everything but I guess I just have to learn to be patient!

I defo agree with this... last week I lost a pound... ok not great, but not a stall or a gain, so that is good... but... I measured and lost 3 inches!!! That felt good! I also take a photo every two weeks... there is definately a difference there too!

I have upped the excercise this week, so I am hoping for my 'offical' weigh day to be better... Sat is the day!! However, I do weigh most days, but the difference is that I don't let it effect me now. I concentrate on all the positives such as the inch loss, the loose clothes, loose rings on my fingers, having one neck instead of three, the being able to do an hour of exercise in one go and not it small 10-15 mins sessions... it is all a part of the process and I am starting to get that now!

xx

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
