Anyone have Dr. Martin Lopez as a surgeon.

How many vsg's has he performed?

How was your experience?

How many people are currently schedule with him?

Has anyone been to the Santa Fe Clinic? and if so what was your experience?:thumbup1:

Thank you.

Hello Mick,

I had my surgery there and with Dr. Lopez. I can't say enough good things! I love them! It was rough for the first 3 days but I don't regret for one second having the surgery. I am six weeks post op and down 35 lbs. The staff is wonderful. I completely trust them they are fantastic! They went far beyond what I ever expected! I can't wait to see them again! I will go to them without hesitation. I had the plication done and they treated me far better and with more care than any doctor here in Canada. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. My friend and I went together to have our procedure and both of us couldn't be happier! Best of luck to you. Hope I helped!

I have had lapband surgery in Tiajuana. The first surgery I considered to be successful although later my band slipped. This was done by Dr. Covalis Lopez. This is a different doctor than Dr. Martin Lopez.

There was virtually no follow-up from the first surgeon or his staff. There was also a lack of support from US doctors on the first surgery. Lapbands do have some maintenance.

The second time I went to Mexico, I took a friend. We went to Hospital Jersalem. What a dive. The location sucks and the pictures are misleading to where you will be. Excuse my phrase ghetto... my husband is black. This location had 2 strong armed robberies with in 50 and 500 feet of the front door while I was present. the septic system also had issues. We were routed ther my Medical Tourism. I will NEVER trust Medical Tourism with my safety or those I travel with. Again there was a lack of follow-up.

The third visit was with Dr. Martin Lopez and Dr. Jorge Serrano Anaya. My surgery was for a revisio of my slipped band to a plication. I was in an emergency situation. They kept close contact for thirty days prior to my surgery and continue to do so every week.

I also took a family member and a friend of mine with me. We all had plications surgery. The facilities were clean and the doctors are very knowledgeable and supportive. There will be a time where you plateau and need will need guidance. I personally feel that you will get the kind of services in a facility that will meet your expectations. If I can be of any assistance in answering your questions please let me know. There are some real pits to the way some of the facilities try to lure you in.

Incase I wasn't clear, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Martin Lopez and Baja Med. They were everything they promised to be and more.

I had placation with Dr.Martin Lopez of Baja Med in July.

I can't say enough great things about the service I recieved. You don't get the one on one attention from doctors in Canada.

Dr. Lopez was amazing! The entire staff at Baja Med went above and beyond to make sure I recieved the best care. Dr. Lopez is a very kind, conciderate and attentive surgon.

There was a night, three days post surgery I was feeling very ill. A driver picked me up and took me to Baja Med. Dr.Lopez left an event at 11:00pm to meet me there and make sure I was ok.

I have never had that kind of service in the medical field.

I went down with a girlfriend and we both had the procedure. I would do it again in a heart beat! I won't lie the first few days were very hard but worth every second of suffering. I am almost 6 weeks post op, am feeling fantastic and have already lost 38lbs!

I am willing to answer any questions you may have...

I hope you chose to have your surgery with Baja Med.

It is a decision you will never regret.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
