Recommended Posts

1. i am starting to hate my scale. i've been stalled for almost a week. i was 178.8 for about 4-5 days. yesterday morning, i got on the scale and i was 177.6. i was so happy. however, this morning, i got on the scale and it was back at 178.6. wtf??? i'm a little pissed.

i'm not on my period - in fact, i just got off. so bleh.

2. i was curious as to what others thought about what i'm eating....

here's what i've ate today so far:

Breakfast - Protein shake 35 grams of Protein

snack - handful of unsalted almonds

lunch - was out and grabbed 3 GRILLED chicken strips from chick-fil-a and ate 1 1/2 of them

snack - finished the other 1 1/2 strips and ate 3 cheese poofs

dinner - not sure yet - maybe some grilled chicken and veggies or tuna salad

snack - will probably be a string cheese stick

I did the same thing around my cycle. I still lost the week of the period, but the week or so after, I would go up and down...always staying close to the same weight. I then would start back up with a lb or 2 each week until that time of month again. Think about your hormones...kinda a delayed reaction. I feel your pain. Stay on track, and you'll do fine.

By the way, sounds like your meals are right on track. I still can't have almonds (8 weeks today) and the dr warned us against cheese puffs, but as long as you are getting your Protein first, it should be okay. My (good) problem is, I don't have room for it after I get the Protein. They were a staple of mine pre-surgery, before liquid diets, etc. Good luck.

i think you're doing just fine with your menu - but how are you doing in the exercise area.....you'll definitely see the difference as soon as you start moving and doing exercise.....whether it's walking, swimming, zumba...anything will be good.:scared0:

Our bodies have to get used to it's new weight before it will decide to let go of anymore. don't worry about it. You're eating right and it will come off. I never lost every week. I would go on plateaus, not lose for about 3 weeks, and the drop 5 lbs and go on another plateau.

The best advice that I have been given is to STOP scare watching. It helps if you weight yourself around the same time of the day and only once (maybe twice) a week. I know it is hard but hopefully it helps.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
