Today has been a great day for 2 reasons, I went swimming:-) and actually ate some steak! We went swimming for about an hour and I did about 15 laps it felt so good to do some exercise other than walking. We had dinner at my parents as we do every Sunday, I asked my mom what she was fixing and was told steak, potato and salad. I thought I was going to be stuck just eating baked potato but she said she got filet's and they were really tender so I figured i'd try it. I took small bites and chewed very well and it was great! It went down and settled perfectly, it was so nice to get eat some meat other than chicken and lunch meat:-) Looks like i'm getting back to my normal diet and I also broke through my stall I was having this past week..2 more pounds GONE! Everyday gets easier and i'm loving this choice even more!

That's great Andrea!! I too had 3 or 4 bites of ribeye and it was good. You are doing great!! I'm still in a stall but hoping it'll break in next few days. :)

Yummmmm....steaaaaaaaaak....Can't wait until I can eat some of that good stuff. I'm on my second week, and I have been quite hungry, which surprised me. But I can already tell how I won't be able to eat much and that is the most awesome feeling.

Congratulations! Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing day! The first time I had steak again was heavenly--and isn't swimming great? I have a pool and I try to do Water aerobics almost every day. I bought some water hand weights for resistance and I'm starting to feel the muscles in my arms and legs--I feel 10 years younger!

WOW Im so excited for you. I have been to chicken lol for steak. I have been eating everything else though. This last week I had some squash and roasted bell pepper and cantalope OMG nectar of the GODS. HEHE. Seriously I have been having a cup of cantalope and half a container of MYOPLEX high protien drink (just half) 22g of protien for brunch every day and it is really making me feel great. Just enough Fiber, and protien to get things going. I am really enjoying things I never ate before my sleeve.

I am going thru my time of the month and I tell you I got really nervous because besides craving everything, it was my bday and part of me was like OHHH CAKE and OHHH STEAK and HMM what else. But it was weird, I didnt really even want it. I had a bite of bday cake, (one slice from the grocery) and was like Umm this isnt as good as I thought it would be, hmmm where is the mangos and cantalope. NOW coming from a cake, chocolate and sugar junkie I find this turn of events amazing.

good going with the swimming, I am going to go in tomorrow in honor of you. My incisions are healed and ready to be submerged. GL this week and congrats on your movement.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
