Got on the scale this morning and I am exactly 20 pounds down, tomorrow is my 4 week surgiverary! I really do believe in myself and my sleeve!

Funny thing, have no internet on my computer so can't track my food like normal for last 2 days and it really bothers me not to have that.

I took my daughter to a festival yesterday (she is a tiny miss queen for her county school system so she was volunteering) and we were serving food. I was able to eat some lean beef and a few forks of corn and green Beans. Passed up dessert but had a few bites of Madi's chocolate ice cream. Of course I was afraid I might have sabotaged my diet after that but I am learning that something in moderation is not going to hurt me.

Thanks for all of the support here, it has been so refreshing and reassuring.

I look forward to the next 20 pound goal!

Congratulations!!

It will take more than a few bites of anything to sabotage your plan. We're in this for the long haul and that's going to include a few bites of something here and there. The important part is that it's very occasional and only a bite or two.

Enjoy the journey!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
