Hi Everyone:

Just curious to know how much Protein you are all eating or drinking in a day. Are you shooting for a particular number? I'm trying to get enough Protein, but how much is enough?

Any paticular Protein rich foods you're enjoying?

Tomato Soup is what is getting me by. I love it!!! I only have about 4oz at a time. You never remember how good Soup is until you have no choice but to eat it. LOL I didn't have any acid problems with it either.

Congrats to you Coach!! As a fellow Michigander (now in TX), I'm glad to see that all is well!! I also am not hungry but boy those smells and watching/hearing people crunch stuff is getting too me!! I'm having "food withdrawals" big time today. But, I'm committed to getting through these 2 weeks of liquids and on to mushies.

By the way, how do ya'll do with Tomato soup? Have you had any problems with that? I didn't buy any cuz I though it might bother me.

I agree with you Coach...can't wait to see how much we all lose...lbs. and inches!!!

Woot - 11 pounds down in 5 days! My doctor prescribes 30-35 days of Clear Liquids and considers this stage a major jump-start in our weight loss journey. I am dying for Tomato Soup after reading the previous few posts :-) I think there will be some cheating in my future but we'll see. Can't deny that the weight loss is awesome and feels good.

WHO HOO GILBERT!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you girl.

I am on day 12 of my clear liquid fast now. I am being very strick as The Wiz is expecting us. Yes, he seems to be one of the strictest on this board that I can see for sure.

Some days, I too just don't know HOW we are going to make 30 days.........but we can take each day as it comes.

I am cooking and serving my dh and children. I don't mind that really, but damn, every once in awhile I really feel hunger and WANT. But every day I do this is a victory for me.

And yes the weight loss IS awsome, so lets keep focusing on that.

hugs and hope to meet you again.

I go for my first fill Aug 21 how about you?

I need some help from some of you veterans or nurses out there. I woke up this morning feeling fine. I had Breakfast and then about an hour later I had diarrrea (sp?) and then my stomach started to hurt. It hurt right up under my breastbone. It was definitely my stomach. It hurt all day. I finally ate some Peanut Butter crackers this evening and some popcycles. I don't think I have fever although my thermomiter might be broken. I don't know what it is. Should I be real concerned about this or is it just something that will go away? I don't want to have any problems with my band. I thought it would be better by now but it is not. I know I haven't had a good eating day but I didn't think that anything would stay down. Oh yeah I had some Soup for lunch. It barely stayed down. I am hungry a little but not sure on what to eat. What should I do? Help:help:

Wow! 30 days post-op of liquids!! I've never heard of that. More power to you, though!

Regarding how much protein...my doc told me for my height of 5' 4" I should aim for At LEAST 60 grams per day, and more if I can.

I can tell I need a fill as I could eat anything I want, but choose not to. I go August 17th. I wish it were tomorrow, but I'm still losing at a steady 4lbs per week, so I'll wait it out until the 17th.

I'm thinking maybe mid to late September. I am going on a cruise September 15 and I don't like the idea of having a fill just prior to that. But I meet with the Whiz tomorrow morning for my 1st post-op appointment so we'll see what he has to say.

Weight loss still good for you Paula? 12 days now ... :-)

Cheers,

Marie

Tonight I had my first family gathering at my mothers house and I didn't cheat or eat. I just told everyone I was on a diet and that I ate at home before coming. Its so much easier not to get sabatoged (sp?) when you can't eat! Everyone kept saying things like 'ohhh this cake is soooo good' and even though my family is wonderful, they are at the same time over'eaters who like company lol. Nowonder I needed this band!

Stesti,

60 grams is what is expected of us to take in, but I know I'm having a hard time getting 30 - 40 in right now. I am 1 week out today, from surgery. I think I'm having a hard time because I have no more unflavored Protein mix and need to get to the store quickly. LOL When you use the unflavored protein, you can just sprinkle it on your food and your really don't taste it. But right now, I just feel so full after every meal that i find it hard to get the all 60 in. I am on full liquids right now and i can start to add mushies in 4 days. I also have pneumonia so I have not been feeling so great either.

I'm not there yere, but eggs & meat are a good source of protein. Every ounce of meat or 1 egg is around 7 grams of protein. so if you eat 3 0z per meal, you'll have 21 grams right off the bat. Do you have a nutritionist that is available through your Dr's office? They are usually the best to ask. I love my nutritionist. I never go hungry and if i don't like anything that is on my plan, she always finds somethings I do like to help me get by.

Beth,

what did you eat before this happened. I know you said breakfast , but what did it consist of? Sometimes that happens to me if i eat eggs, my Protein Drink or coffe before anything else. I have no gallbladder so eggs don't always agree with me. Or could you have eaten anything with sugar?

Hey everyone!

I am still doing well. I haven't been on a scale in awhile but 21 lbs last I checked a week or so ago. I can tell by looking and by clothes though.. I saw a friend of mine a couple of days ago and she said I looked great! That made me feel good.

I too can tell I need a fill.. I go on Aug 18th.. my doc told me last visit that he used a medium band on me instead of a small band cuz the small band would have been too tight. He said that I will more than likely need a fill this next visit.. I know I do cuz I am hungry more but not eating remotely close to what I used to.. it is wierd.. it is like it isnt that important anymore. I hope this lasts! I am going back to work Monday. Thank goodness for excellent benefits! I had a month off with pay! I am kinda getting bored here sitting at home so work will be good to get into, plus I will be busy and not want to munch. hee hee!

Hope everyone is doing well and I will check in with you guys soon!

Luv,

DonnaMarie:)

KMO-

I ate what I always eat for breakfast. Toast with Peanut Butter on it. I didn't eat much yesterday because I was sick. Today I don't feel much better. It might be a bug. I have a call in to talk to the dietian to find out what I should try to eat. I hope she calls soon. I will let you know later in the day what is going on with me.

Beth

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
