Dr Huacuz Should Sleeve Gastrectomy

Recommended Posts

LUCARTWLUCY, I read back on your post and you said you had the band with Dr. Huacuz then you said you had the D...Switch by Dr. Huacuz. Is there a reason you had both done. Or is this just advertising.

The Sleeve Gastrectomy, reduce the stomach volumen. The stomach is restricted by dividing it vertically and removing more than 8o% of it. This part of the procedure is not reversible. The stomach that remains is shaped like a banana and measures from 2-5 ounces. The nerves to the stomach and the outlet valve (pylorus) remain intact with the idea of preserving the functions of the stomach while reducing the volume. By comparison, in a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, the stomach is divided, not removed, and the pylorus is excluded. There is no intestinal bypass with this procedure, only stomach reduction. The main points about this procedure will be the stomach is reduce but it will funciton normally so most food items can be consemed in small amounts. Also Dr, Huacuz eliminated the portion of the stomach that produce hunger.

and I did some search before get the procedure done , and it is totally aprove by the ASBS , American Society fro Bariatric Surgery.

and Dr. Huacuz perform my procedure Laparoscopic, that makes the diference

You can visit the doctor website, and you will find information regarding the procedure and more, also they have a support group that just start.

Im really Happy with my results and I would do it again if possible..

Im down 130 Pounds and I still lossing weight.

Congrats to you happy@83. How long did you have the band before converting to the sleeve. I am not banded yet and I am just weighing all of my options before. I am REALLY leaning towards the band. So many have success with it and their are some that don't. I am trying to talk to both groups to get all of the pro's and con's of it. I am 106 lbs over weight and I am hoping that the band will help. Thanks!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
