OMG I am ACTUALLY drinking a protein shake!

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Tiffykins!!! My hubby just picked up the Extreme Milk chocolate from whey Optimum and I am drinking it! I have to be honest, I don't LOVE it, but since the alternative of the dozens of others I have tried is gagging, this is pure success! I am so happy I will get in some Protein today. I am thinking of trying to freeze some into a slushie.

I just had to share. Also a 5 lb container is on sale at GNC for $42 ($20 off) So Double Woot!

:lol0:  :001_wub:

YAY YAY, my husband likes his super cold. I just can't handle super cold stuff on my teeth.

I bet freezing it or even blending it with some ice would be yummy.

Are you mixing it with Water or milk?

Mmm, bananas.... I am in a hungry mood tonight

I am mixing it with milk to get more Protein in, but I will try Water another day.

It is great frozen too!

I used to LOVE those syrups...have a bunch of them but I cannot STAND them anymore. They make me wanna gag! As if the Protein powders aren't bad enough! I used to love Carnation Instant Breakfast (SF) but now I am lucky to get one or two sips down. And I actually stocked up on it before the surgery (before I read not to on this forum). The little things that I used to love that turn me off now...LOL. I guess I will wait and see if the likes come back down the line.

I haven't really had any food dislikes so far. . . hahahahah but then i'm still on Clear liquids with those popsicles, broth, and Jello. . . not much for browsing there. . . but Water has been a big turn off. . . used to love it sooo much, now ewwwwwww, it's so nasty unless i add Welches sugarfree dark berry blend into it, then its good. . . i'll see on thursday if i can tolerate sf puddings, cottage cheese, stringcheese, fat free refried Beans. . .will be interesting. . .

Tiff, what a good idea to add extracts to milk. . . how neat is that! Do those extracts carry alot of carbs?

The SF syrups do not have carbs what I found on myfitnesspal.com

It appears that the extracts vanilla and banana do not have any nutrtional value. No carbs, no calories.

My revision surgery in on Friday, so I'm doing pre-op right now. Even when I had my band put in, I added extracts to my shakes for flavor. My favorite is to get chocolate Protein powder, frozen cherries, milk, and almond extract. ALMOST has good as eating chocolate covered cherries:001_tongue:!! A dab of Peanut Butter in chocolate powder with bananas and banana extract is also yummy.

I never thought of using those coffee flavorings - I'll have to get some when I get off clears after surgery. Great idea!!

Tiffy comes through again! I use soy milk for mine and it keeps the lactose intolerance down. Not that my intolerance is bad, but why tempt fate? I am still having at least one Protein Shake per day. The less gritty the better! And like real food, I have to go very slow and sip and stay away from gulping. Last week took two BIG swigs of OJ and paid the price for about 45 minutes, on the Water closet, not knowing which end would open up first. Hated it!

using soy milk is a good idea because a lot of people who are sleeved get diarrhea from milk. soy Slender has way less calories than any other brand of soy milk.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
