o.k. I am 7 days out and doing well but thinking of all this crazy stuff that could go wrong. Cooking has been very hard. I can't taste anything so my family has to tell me if it is mixed and seasoned well...I could just about inhale the spoon!

o.k. 'what if ...my biggest worry..... I have gone through all of this and then when I finally get to eat I can't stop....

I am not hungry for food I just want something other than broth!

What if......I go through this and dont' lose my weight?

What if...it doesn't get any better when I can have soft mushies...

Did anyone have these worries or feel like they were being tortured by not having real food???:lol0:

Mona - - what you're going through is totally normal -- everyone has what if's ... just focus on today - one day at a time, one hour at a time - don't worry about the future - it's not here yet and no need to waste energy worrying about something that you can't control - worry about what you can control TODAY and TODAY only ... stick to your post-op diet and you'll be fine.

Hugs, Vegas

Mona-

Your fears are soooooo very normal!! The first month is alot of "What if's".....

We're getting use to alot of things and sometimes our "head hunger" is there.

My fear was I had SO much weight to lose-I really didn't think it was possible, but here I am 9 months out and down 154 pounds!!!

Thats a WHOLE person !!

It will be a bumpy road, but it's been traveled by many who have succeeded.... once you start eating, seeing the weight come off, the inches almost "melt" away- your fears will subside.

You will also have "stalls" and they might come back.... but just keep making the right choices, drink your water- and get in your Protein, and it will get better!

I am there right now- a stall- but my bad... I KNOW what to do- I actually need to eat MORE... to lose, and this time of year I am so busy with work, I get home late and don't want to eat.

But I'll get over this hump...and am not getting discouraged. And as far as eating and not being able to stop.... You WILL know... and you will stop.

If you ever just wanna chat.. IM me.

Hoping you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Mona,

My name is Chandra and I'm 9 days out and I have some "what ifs" too.. I guess we won't know these things until we cross those bridges but I do take into consideration all the people here that have already been through it and the fact that I'm feeling full on the liquids I'm drinking so I'm sure we will with food as well. The challenge for me will be in always making the best food choices and not giving in to eating something that really doesn't benefit me too often.

I have some drink recipes from my surgeon that are really good.. the one I'm drinking now has pumpkin pure in it, and sugar free maple Syrup and cinnamon so it's like I'm drinking pumpkin pie.. let me know if you need any..... :)

Hang in there.. try to take it one day at a time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
