June or July get together

Recommended Posts

At the pool...Ok so we talked about June 17th for the pool party. Is that the best date for everyone? Would a weekend in July do better? (Angie you can bring the extra kiddies it's ok) So thoughts...keep it the 17th or change it?

We should still get together in June if we change the pool party. I will supply the meet or someone can help me w/ it and then others can bring sides...

Thoughts????

Junes pretty crazy for me, the 17th is the only possible day for a meet up...but not sure what time pauls reunion stuff is going on that day. July is shapping up to be pretty busy as well. I know we will be out of town 4th of july week and weekends before and after. And the last weekend of July is the big wedding for Paul's cousin.

I'm guess I'm saying go with what works for most of you...not sure how my summer months are going to fit into any schedule.

Kim...going to have to miss the June 5th? (monday night) support group because I have a meeting for the cruise...we have to set down and go over all the many rules for the girls and parents and girls have to sign all the paperwork and compliency papers.

Overall, either month is fine for me. The only date I CAN'T make it is June 24th.

I'd be happy to either help you with meat or a side dish. I'm thinking mashed cauliflower.

Yummy, mashed cauliflower! June 15th is fine...I'm penciling it in for now. It will just be me and Rachel. 3yo boys are too much trouble, and a hermit hubby would just as soon stay home with him. Oh well.

I'll bring whatever. Lemme know!

June 17th is our wedding anniversary and not sure if we are doing anything or not? I will have to ask him and see what he wants to do. Things arent going really well so I dont see it working out, so maybe the 17th of June would be a great day to be with you girls. <sigh> I will let you know.

Ok so I can't decide - leave it on the 17th of June or try for July?

Let me know because if it's the 17th then I need work on getting things together. :(

Anytime is fine w/ me..Really and my grandparents are looking forward to it also. They love it when have parties @ the pool.

Would anyone mind if my sister was w/ us? She said she would love to meet you girls. Then are any spouses coming? If not I will send Mike out w/ the boys to play....

My hubby said he would like to come.. He wants to meet the other members of my "cult"

He calls us, "Cult of the Ladies of Lapband"

I told him we only chanted a little bit at our last meeting.

Hehehe, if Kirk comes I might be able to talk Paul into it. LOL.....I'm so tired today, was up to 2:30 this morning helping kristen with her project. She went to bed at 1:30, and I stayed up proof reading all the written work. Boy was she irratable when I got her up at 5:30 this morning to rewrite most of it. She ended up being 30 minutes late for school too. Sigh, need sleep.< /p>

the only single man I know is a dorky, but loveable, computer geek like my husband. But, as he keeps informing me, has 5 more days until his divorce is final. She is the causer of many many problems. I talked her into joining weight watchers, she dropped a 100lbs, then decided that my dorky guy was no longer "good enough" for her and proceeded to refind herself in bed with several other men.

This has caused my husband undue stress, but he still fears that I am gonna lose all the weight and go look for a new man.

Men are goobers sometimes.

Maybe when my friend gets over all this and gets his "rebound fun" in, I'll introduce ya'll

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
