New to NSV because I've only just recently had some.

Almost 6 months post op and I bought a Large sized shirt.

Used to be 3XL, then 2XL, then XL, but a Large? crazy,

Ok, I've had many of the NSV mentioned being almost at my year mark but recently I had to purchase new bras and I just ordered the same style but the smaller size. Well, when I got them I discovered they were 2 clips on the back! I've not been in a 2 clip bra since my mid teens!!!! Gone are the days of 4 hooks being necessary to help hold the girls (and the fat). Yay for me! :-)

We are now in the world of more choice! :D I used to try to shop in regular stores but ended up in goodwill hoping some lineman from the local college had donated.

I was at my (1) month post-op follow-up with my primary on Tuesday. I had taken off my shoes to weigh in. While at the front desk checking out, without even thinking about it, I bent down to tie my shoes. It was pretty effortless. When I stood back up, I realized what had just happened. I bent down to tie my shoes. Without feeling faint. Without cutting off my breathing. Without having my face turn red.

Such a simple thing. I was thrilled.

…and another NSV: My primary was so thrilled, that she ran two blood tests. My A1c is down from 12.2 to 9.6. Allowing for the fact that it's really just been the past month that my bloodsugar has improved, it's a pretty big jump. And my Fructosamine came back… wait for it… NORMAL!

It's a miracle.

My 22 year old son is an advanced snowboarder; I am just learning to ski. Yesterday i managed to ski an entire day without dying of exhaustion; albeit on beginner runs not double diamonds! I can't imagine doing that back when I was obese! (although I am pretty tired today!)

It is wonderful to be able to do stuff like that with your kids and I am saddened I couldn't do more of it when they were little.

Still pre-op but eating less. NSV - I can't keep my pants on! Tried to hold them up while grocery shopping today but pretty sure dozens of people saw a significant portion of my undies. Time to pull out the sewing machine! :D

Jane that is so cool about skiing. I would love to ski with my kids. I am glad to hear you're enjoying it more. It's so much fun, and just gorgeous out there in the mountains.

I had a new NSV. I haven't had one in awhile . I was at the gym and I noticed this guy staring at me. He was about my age and I've seen him at the gym a lot over the years. I was doing lunges and squats and I asked him if I was doing something wrong. He replied "No, not at all. I was just admiring you"

2 NSVs for me so far.

My Cardiologist has taken me off my 3rd med since surgery (2/3/14).

My Sons friend saw me yesterday, first time since surgery. He said several times...damn Mr D. youre getting small. Im down nearly 50 lbs in the 9 wks since surgery and just shy of 100 lbs since December of 2013. Made me feel so happy.

Just realized yesterday that I can do a full squat and get back up again. Who knew I had muscles underneath all that fat!

Went hiking the other day after a big rain but I was unprepared- didn't have waterproof shoes. We can up to an area that had a lot of standing Water, my hubby turned to me and asked if I needed a piggy back ride. I told him no, I was scared I would hurt him. He just scoffed and insisted it would be ok. I hopped on and off we went, he had no problems carrying me. I felt like a princess.

My hubby told me that we can go to the Ren Fair on the 19th (finally...he works Saturdays, so we had to see if he could get off)...so excited to meet up with friends; I immediately pulled out some of the tops I had bought from Holy Clothing in anticipation of this... a few were small for me when I bought them...(on sale)... now they fit perfectly!!! I just have to decide WHICH one to wear...

Also excited that I won't have to stop every 5 minutes to catch my breath or too exhausted to go on and have to sit while they all go exploring... this is going to be FUN... rain or shine, I am going to enjoy this day in the "sun" with my friends!!! :)

Whooo Hooo...GOOD JOB to all who are chalking up success stories. Just adding a toot here myself. This morning I jogged my whole route. I have been training every other day for another up coming 5 K at the end of May. I figured it out and it was about 2.3 miles. That might as well be a marathon for me! Whooopie! Feels good! Congrats to everyone who is working hard and a pat on the back for all those who are struggling...hang in there.

thanks,

stacie

I had my first NSV today! I'm just over 3 weeks out (down 47 from the first time I walked into my surgeon's office, and about 15 since surgery). I tried on my wedding band which I haven't been able to wear since I was pregnant with my twins, 6 years ago! I had been wearing a replacement band my DH bought when the kids were born so I didn't have a naked finger but I love the original so much more. It makes me so happy to finally have it on again!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
