I was working on my daughters CRV in the garage and did not mean to park it so close to the garage door frame. I saw the space and first I walked around the other side, then without thinking i walked through the space that was clearly much too narrow for me without greasing my self up and getting two people to push me through it. However, i walked so easily through the gap that i only realized later that i had done it. Wow. I fit in narrow spots--go figure.

Loving this thread! I think the NSVs might even be more rewarding than the scales because they are tangible. Had my first experience of not being able to put the armrest all the way down on a recent flight because of these bloody hips...SO demoralizing! So I am eagerly awaiting that particular NSV (and many others!), as so many have described. Great job y'all!

Happy dance for the NSVs!! :D

My husband kissed me goodnight last night & I realized his hands rested comfortably on my waist. Didn't realize I had a waist. Then when he pulled me into a hug and his arms reached all the way around me easily I just melted. It was so sensual and an eye opener for me. I feel sexy again!

I'm 23 and have been with my bf 2 years now. We always hang out with his guy friends and they bring their girlfriends along. They are all skinny and beautiful, I've always felt like gosh I'm the ugly fat gf , my bf deserves a hot gf like his friends do...anyway we went out dancing this sat. and his guy friends have not seen me since I've lost 88 pounds because I'm living in a different state right now. The entire night they kept saying omg you are a bombshell! You look amazing! And kept telling my bf your gf is so bangin! You lucky bastard!

Man do I feel like one of the sexy girlfriends now and am excited to say my bf has the hot gf he deserves :D

only three weeks out yet NSV's are all over the place. I need to focus and note them and not take them for granted. I was sitting on a wooden chair at the dinning room table and was uncomfortable, finaly i figure it was because by BFB was so much smaller that the presure on my sitting bones was uncomfortable! go figure.

I now have definition over my Quads- never seen that before.

Big success was not weighing in for three days now. I find that it plays games with my mind no matter what the number is.

I am now to the point that most people have never seen me so thin. Last time I was this weight I was about 6 months pregnant with my now 24 year old daughter.

Yesterday I saw someone who I hadn't seen in about a year. I said hi. Then he looked and said "you've lost a lot of weight, I didn't recognize you until you spoke to me and wouldn't have recognized you if you hadn't spoken to me.

I am now walking if it's less than half a mile and riding my bike up to 13 miles a day sometimes.

I am fitting (barely) in a pair of 10 jeans. They are stretch jeans but not a lot of stretch. I fit well in size 12 now. I have to buy new panties because size 7 is too big now. I'm hoping to go from a 34DD to 34D soon. 34D is much easier to find than 34DD.

I've bought a journal to keep track of the NSVs (and other things)...that way on my tough days, I have an instant pick-me-up to help me through :)

I really enjoyed going to Good Will, picking up a pair of size 12 jeans, couldn't find the lady with the key to try them on. Figured I would risk it and bought them. Got home and they were actually a bit baggy :) I wore a 24 before surgery, it just absolutely amazes me. I recently ordered medium scrubs online, worried they would be too small. They fit with more room than the 2x's I wore before surgery. I LOVE my sleeve!!!

You must be about the same height as me. I am a 12 now too and I'm at 163. I have a pair of 10s that fit but they are too tight to wear, but I can zip and button them. I'm 5'0".

Pinky, I am 5'3" and at my lowest (167) I had a pair of size 10 Levi's. With all the extra skin and lower stomach pouch, I wasn't comfortable wearing them with a t-shirt or blouse, but I found light and pretty tunics that hit just at the crotch and those were perfect, let me show off my size 10 legs and booty! :)

NSV for me -- new workout clothes! I looked at myself in the gym mirror and realized that in my 3-sizes-too-big shorts and t-shirt, I just looked like Sponge Bob Squarepants. I was just square, and looked like a sad ragamuffin, like I was in someone else's clothes.

So this weekend I resolved to buy new shirts/shorts. Such a revelation -- looking good at the gym! I accused Nordstrom's of installing the skinny mirrors in the activewear dressing rooms, because darn, I looked GOOD in Large capri's and dri-fit shirt. But the outfit looked just as good in my true-to-life mirrors at home. Wow! Now let's see if it looks that good at the gym tomorrow!

I can't believe how much I walked today. First I walked to McDonald's (.62 miles) , I usually get an egg mcmuffin and eat it open faced.

From there I went about three blocks to the Kroger. Didn't buy anything because what I wanted was perishable and my thought is I needed to go to the bathroom. I was on my way to the bus stop to go to Walmart to get a few things. I stopped at the dollar store and got some small food containers that I'm going to use for my soap making.

But it is Sunday and the buses don't come but once an hour so I decided to start walking and see how far I got.

The total walk from McDonald's to Kroger, walking around Kroger and then walking to the bus stop and then walking down three more bus stops I estimate by mapmywalk.com to be (1.51 miles) not counting walking around I did at a Dollar Store and Walgreens and then I walked around in Walmart and carried two bags of groceries to the bus stop. Then I sat down. Waited for the bus and hoped on and rode to a place that was about 3 blocks from my house (.72 miles). Then I walked to the Neighborhood Walmart (one nearer our house but doesn't have what I needed earlier from the big Walmart) and got some milk for steel-cut oatmeal.(.75 miles again). I think I walked at least 4 miles today.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
