Road to onderland challenge May 21-June 21

Recommended Posts

Can we sticky this?

Ok, I started a fresh new thread for this months onderland challenge. Many of you joined us last month and were super close, so lets go for it again.

My goal last month, since I was already at 199 when this started my goal was to get to 190. I never made it :cry .

Now, I am real close but I have been in the 190's for a month and a half. My new goal is 189. At the moment I have 4 lbs to lose.

Congrats to those of you who did make it. Please join us again for another challenge and let us know what your new goal is.

Since June 21st is a Wednesday, lets make Wednesdays weigh in day. That way the last day will be a weigh in day.

Good luck everyone, I have faith that we can do it!

I am in!! I have been teetering b/w 208 and 212 for almost a month now. I have my second fill this afternoon so I am setting a goal to be under 200 by mid-June. Wish me luck on the fill! I felt no restriction from my first one so I am hoping this one is better.

Since I'm back to 199 now, I'm definitely in this challenge. I want to be at least 190 by June 21st. I'm hoping to be 189 but I'm trying to be realistic.

Good luck, everyone!! :)

What the heck...I'll join! It can't hurt! My goal was to be in onederland by my hubby's MBA graduation...as you can see from my pretty new ticker! But, if I could reach it before then, even better!

Just got my second fill a week ago and man it is a good one!

Good luck to everyone!!! I look forward to getting to know you all!

I'm in! I am 8 weeks post-op and haven't had my first fill. So I'd love to get to onederland by the end of June, and need incentive to get there without the benefit of too much restriction. I joined Weight Watchers to kick me in the butt, too. Hopefully with the both WW and this thread I can lose just enough until I get my first fill sometime this summer. I haven't truly seen onderland for 9 years. I'd love to see what that looks like again!

I am in sitting about .5 pounds away from onederland. Would love to be 190.5 by the 21st. Hopefully will get a fill next week, that should kick it into gear.

I want to join. I am 7 pounds to onederland and this challenge will help a lot. I need a fill but I want to wait because I am going out of town this weekend and I don't want to be on Clear liquids for a couple of days. Neither do I want my family looking at me like I am crazy since none of them know that I have the band.

Anyway, I have an appointement scheduled for May 31st for a fill and I am sure I can get this 7 to 8lbs off by then. I do have a little restriction but I am fighting every second of the day cause I do not want to gain.

This challenge will be good for me. Thanks for all your help and I look foward to being in onederland real soon!

This will be a good thing. The last challenge helped me try to get to 190. I didn't make it, but I have less to go to get to 189, so I am going to kick my butt into gear and excersize more.

I wish everyone the best of luck. Is anyone doing anything particular to drop the weight? I am increasing my activity, once my allergies stop killing me, LOL.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
